The original HD that came with my M17x died recently and Dell sent me a replacement that of course didn't have the Respawn partition. I called up AW just to see if they had disks or something that would allow me to setup a Respawn partition on my new HD, but apparently Respawn is something that hey are no longer doing.
I was wondering if anyone new of some software which would allow me to make an image of a fresh Windows install and set something up similar to Respawn? Or maybe even know how i could acquire an image of the Respawn partition?
My system was sent as a replacement and the only disks Dell sent me were the windows 7 disk and the app disk. I found Respawn to be pretty handy.

I'd use a third party tool like Acronis True Image. Fast and reliable.
Personally, never really liked the Respawn partition, you can't easily update it and with time you install to much software to start from scratch.
And with Acronis and similar apps you can update your image every now and then in a matter of seconds.
2 cents of course. -
Hi ttnuagmada
Alienware now uses Dell DataSafe Local Backkup instead of respawn. It says you can upgrade to premium edition for an easy to use automoated full system backup and recovery solution for your PC.
Don't forget to install your drivers in the correct order or else they may not work. You can print the order list on the driver update page. -
Acronis is a god when it comes to this stuff.
