I guess you can use Windows 7 Manager to customize the picture there, basically with Windows 7 Manager you can put just about any picture there, even a picture of yourself in if you like. Windows 7 Manager

Here is the original image (converted to PNG) from Alienware that you need to insert...

    LOGO copy.png
    And a modified alternative...

    LOGO.png

Download: View attachment LOGO.zip (The BMP in the zip file is the original. The PNG files will also work.)

You can use a free program like WinBubble to set it up very easily.

And for those old school folks like me, you can do this in the registry:

Press the Orb/Start button and search for regedit
Right click and choose Run as administrator.
    Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\OEMInformation

    To add your logo:
    • Right click in the right window and choose New > String Value.
    • Name it Logo and press Enter. Double click it to modify its value and input the path of your logo, i save it in C:\Windows\System32\oobe\LOGO.bmp (it has to be a .bmp file no larger than 120x120 pixels).

You can also add more info if you'd like:

    To add manufacturer:
Simply right click in the right window again and create another string naming it Manufacturer.
Double click it and input whatever you want. I put ALIENWARE

    To add the model:
Create another string naming it Model and when modifying it input your system model (i.e. M17x, M18x etc..)

    More info you can add:
    Create the following strings:
    SupportURL
    SupportPhone
    SupportHours

Thank you Mr. Fox and Katalin. My Alienware came from the Dell outlet- several details were missed when they reconfigured the system.

If like me you have upgraded to Windows 8, opened up system properties and noticed that the Manufacturer, model and logo are gone, fear not.
Use this guide to replace them :)
How to Add OEM Logo and Information to the System Information Applet in Windows 7 and Vista - The Winhelponline Blog

It say Windows 7 but i have tried it on Windows 8 and it works fine.

    1. Click search, type regedit.exe and press ENTER

    2. Navigate to the following location

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ OEMInformation
If the OEMInformation key is missing, you’ll need to create one manually.

3.Right Click on OEMinformation and Create string values (REG_SZ) and add matching data, as per the table below:

    Value name Data Value type

    Logo <Path to your logo file>* REG_SZ
    Manufacturer <System manufacturer name> REG_SZ
    Model <System Model number> REG_SZ
    SupportHours <Support hours> REG_SZ
    SupportPhone <OEM Support Phone number> REG_SZ
    SupportURL <OEM Support URL> REG_SZ
    4. Exit Registry Editor.

    * Note: The logo should be a BMP file with the dimension of 120×120. Logos larger than 120×120 pixels are scaled to 120×120.

    Sample

Avenger was the "project" name for the M18x R1 before it was released to manufacturing. The M17x R3 had a similar name as a prototype, but I don't remember what it was now.

The GPU and GPU gadgets are from here: OrbLog (CPU Observer and GPU Observer). You will need to download the 8GadgetPack to uses sidebar gadgets with Windows 8.

I'm not sure why GPU-Z is crashing on you. It used to crash when I first got 7970M CF, but a newer release of GPU-Z solved that. It has never crashed on me with 680M. I am using Tech PowerUp version 0.6.6 without issue.

The icons across the top are RocketDock (free) with BlackBeauty icons. However, I made some of my own matching icons with Photoshop. The NVIDIA, Origin, CPU-Z, GPU-Z and Futuremark icons are my creations. RocketDock allows me to hide my desktop icons to eliminate clutter. Here is a link to download my custom icons.
