hey guys i posted a thread earlier i dont know if anyone remembers but i was having serious performance issues with my M17

it was a total of $3,200 and i got it to use in college next fall

well it worked fine the first day but then again i just installed office and did all the necessary windows updates.

but when i tried to play games there was a huge problem. it would just lag like crazy

i couldnt even play Company of Heroes on the lowest possible settings without slow downs and freeze ups

and even playing music it would skip.

ya i talked to 4 different tech ppl from alienware they didnt hellp at all so im returning it. bummer huh?

one thing i did notice today was that the RAM meter was at like 97% after i tried and failed to play company of heroes and exited out

    weird

I read your post on performance issues.

We just had a second reported case of AW leaving the tape on the heatsink of the GPU. All you have to do is remove the bottom cover and do a visual inspection. No voiding of warranty, nothing technical involved.

Your 3DMark scores seem to occasionally be on par, so you might be overheating due to the above issue.

Also, before you go through all the trouble of returning a potentially good machine, are all of your drivers up to date?

All of this is assuming you haven't sent it off yet.
