questions:
what do i look for when wanting to purchase another SSD for the m15x?
what is intel MLC?
what specs (since i cant locate them right now) do i need to match in order to use as internal to the m15x and/or smartbay?
thanks all...

You said "another" so I assume you already have an SSD installed. If you're planning on running RAID then you'll want to get the same as you already have.
If you just want more storage for your smatbay then you can use any suitable SSD.
Intel is just the brand, but MLC means multi level cell. SLC is single level cell and the SLC are generally faster but things are quickly evolving so just look at the read and write speeds.
Don't worry about comparing the number of write cycles. In my opinion, concerns about limited write cycles is unfounded. I've seen SSD's in use in military applications for many years now and have never heard of failure outside of catastrophic impact.

yes i have one, but i can not run raid with the m15x.
i am looking as i may swap when i upgrade the OS to the 64bit (Vista or 7) and want to make sure either will work.
are all SSD's same connector? -
If you have yet to do so, you may want to peruse:
The new SSD Thread (Benchmarks, Brands, News and Advice) -
they're (near as makes no difference) all SATA, if that's what you mean.

will the SB require an adaptor? or is it simply plug and play type? -
The intro has a wealth (IMHO) of theory and fundamentals, but since the tech is moving at the speed of light, you can then also catch the latest and greatest specifics and hard details from the pages near the end. -
the SB hard drive cage comes with everything needed IIRC. i think there's an adaptor of sorts involved, but it's apparently easy to attach/remove.
