I've just ordered a tilted laptop fan base for my M15x, just wondering if tilting it damages it in anyway? such as discs spinning and moving parts and what not. up to this point I've been using various objects to prop up the back of my laptop but now and then i hear what sounds like a disc, the sound goes on and off as if it touches something every rotation. that's at least what i think, I don't have a great knowledge of computer insides. The sound is coming from around the bottom right of the laptop. If i put the laptop on a flat surface then the sound stops.

I've never seen a laptop you CAN'T tilt, unless the laptops has already had a problem.

I guess if you tilt it at an extreme angle it's possible the cd will tilt but I doubt a laptop cooler (I'm assuming that's what you mean by laptop fan base) will cause it.
