    Seagate Free Agent 500gig problems...

    OK, I just purchased one of these for my brother for his birthday. I plug it into his computer and the yellow light on the Free Agent just pulsates and it doesn't do anything... When i try to click it on the my computer screen it causes the explorer to no respond. At one point it asked me to format it before use and i clicked ok and it said it was accessible... Now if this isn't screwed then what is.


    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    I suggest you try to format it again to FAT or NFTS.

    If it's a USB model, make sure that it's a USB2.0 port, these external drives don't get enough power draw via a USB 1 port and therefore don't run correctly.

    The thing is i tried it on my computer in another room and it did the same thing.... So I'm starting to think that its just defective.
