After receiving my m15x back from Alienware for service again (at least it was quick this time), I tried to update my video card drivers to the latest in the 195 series from Nvidia.
Midway through driver installation, I had a blue screen of death.
Restarting the system, I had another blue screen of death immediately after it started loading Windows.
Restarting again in safe mode, I managed to uninstall the video card and delete all drivers.
I managed to re-install the old 186 series drivers from Alienware and it worked, but now every time I try and install any of the 195 series drivers, Windows disables the video card with a "Code 43":
Anyone have any idea what is going on? I am using Windows 7 Home Premium x64, and the initial drivers that BSOD'd on install were the 195.62, Windows 7, 64 bit drivers found here:Code:Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

erm, maybe try reinstalling your windows....

Fresh install of Vista x64 now, and I get the same error.
Is it dead?
I'm just freshly out of warranty this month, having (most recently) replaced the video card in May.
It does work with the old drivers and using them I haven't noticed any graphical issues except in Borderlands, which has known visial errors with the pre-195 drivers (the reason I wanted to install the new drivers in the first place). -
I think I read somewhere that the 195.xx drivers don't work properly with the 8800M series of cards.

Try using tweakforce.com drivers. They net few more FPS than the nvidia stock. Not to mention they are more than half the file size to download. I used them on an overclocked gs-GTS spec card, I averaged 7FPS more on the tweakforce drivers. (asus G50V-x5) I'm using a set on my 9750 with a 8800gtx right now, it looses the device at full clock speeds of 500/799/1250, but has proved stable at 490/715/1100. I think this is an issue caused by the card being in the wrong laptop though. p.s. mine is flashed to a custom 9800GT bios, you may have beter luck since your card is where it should be with the stock bios.
Cheers
