So it is like this. I bought a new Alienware product from another country and the seller is going to transfer the service tag to me so I have warrenty in my country. So far no problem. Alienware does sell the models in my country.
A friend of mine was going crazy about the laptop so I deceided to sell it to him when it arrives or else he would jump of a building. He lives in the same country as I am and is not going to move to another country.
Do I need to fill in the service tag transfer form so he will have warrenty?? On Dell site it only says that I need to fill in the form if the owner moves to another country or the product moves to a owner in another country.
None of the 2 apply for my situation. Or is the service tag enough for Dell to see if it has warrenty regardless who the owner is?
Please enlighten me my fellow Alienware enthousiast.![]()

Ownership has to be switched via Dell.
US Transfer (transfers within the US)
Dell - Ownership Transfers
International Transfer of Ownership
Use this form for the following reasons:
1. Owner of product is moving from one country to a new country
2. Ownership of a product has changed and new owner is located in a different country
Dell - International Ownership Transfer Form

if the service tag is now in your name address email etc all you have to do is either fill the transfer form in yourself with his details or get him to do it, either way the transfer will be straightforward...............or should be lol

@BatBoy: None of that applies to me. The seller from the US will tranfer it to me so I will have warrenty in the Netherlands. How do I transfer it to my friend? There is no form on the Dell site for if the product stays in the same country.
@Geoffxx: Hhmmm sounds easy, lets play with the form a little bit. -
Hmmm, I see I can select my county where I fill in my info and where my friend needs to fill in his info. Should work. Now I need to wait for the system.
Thanks for the info. -
