Just showing the M9750 versus the m15x so you guys can judge how bad the flex / build quality is on the M15x.

By the way when I say "pretty much no flex" I mean no flex. I didn't think at all when I made this video. Umm umm umm say that like 100 times during the video. Let me know if you want anything else.

Thanks for that Stone! Build quality looks leaps and bounds better than the m15x's screen flex problems...

Mmhmm I think it is a pretty sleek and sexy 17" laptop. It was definitely the best on the market at the time. Ugh if they upgraded the mobo and put 8800GTX's and Penyrn's in it they could have had the best 17" notebook on the market now :(. Could have called it the AW M9800 or something.

That would be awesome Lessaj! Just don't bump it too hard...wouldn't want the bottom right of your screen to snap open or anything... :p

Is that some WoW I see running on your other monitor? :D
I can't remember if you were the poster in another thread that talked about it.

Thanks for making the video, though. My Dell XPS 1210 has the exact same wobble, except it also shakes when you move it :( However, that's probably attributable to this one time an ex of mine lifted it up by its monitor at the top right and now a wee bit of the plastic near the hinge is cracked.

    How exciting :D!
I'll remember you when I restart my sub in August, or whenever WotLK comes out. Provided, however, you're not one of those fanatics that believes girls don't exist on the internet <_< or lack the ability to play video games.

    good vid there Stone.

Yup, after reading all your reviews on the m15x, am sorta happy about not buying the m15x and instead buy the m9750. i bought it just before the launch of m15x. i wanted a 17" screen :D and seriously, i dint want to take a gamble with my 3grands, meaning its a new product and no one knows how it would perform in the real world.

my m9750 has been perfect till date. And i am also happy with the way vista has been performing.

Only a small complaint that i have is the same what stone had mentioned in the vdo. the matt finish getting peeled off(and a glossy layer revealing) in the corners and under the laptop. Though i dont hv any problems with it, i feel AW should take care of such things too, coz, alwayz, the difference between a normal laptop and a perfect one lies in the details.

mine isnt wobbling that much at all^^

but i get more and more the feeling that my m15x is really GREAT ^^
i got awsome temps, no wobbling,
im excited what will be next ^^

EDIT: ok sry, i mostly use it at chair and my lap, just checked it at table, but it seems to be better, but also wobbling but not so much, especially when shaking the table

I don't understand all this concern over wobble of the screen. Isn't that getiing a little picky? The video shows that in normal use the screen doesn't wobble at all. I guess my advice to m15X users is don't use your notebook when there is an earthquake.

the screen wobble issue is basically user based. the screen doesnt even wobble that much imo. it is quite stable. the issue has just been blown up. it isnt as bad as people make it seem.

That's really weird because my Macbook Pro's screen wobbles as much as Lessaj7's m15x. But I never thought that was a problem. I still don't... :D

you might want to bring it to genius bar, I don't have any screen wobbles on my old MBP, nor the new one I just purchased last Sunday.
