Drifting off-topic here, but they're putting a different processor in the PS4 because IBM has discontinued the Cell processor in the PS3.

This question comes up on these forums often enough, and this typical answer goes something like this...
Many ppl here, like me, require a gaming laptop. Even if it's just so you can take it for LAN parties if you do that often (though I don't think that's enough of a reason unless you have the cash to not think about it much).

I bought a gaming laptop coz I travel and I sure as hell aint paying for customs and shipping for a whole desktop machine everytime I go somewhere. That, and how baggage is handled.

...and thanks for all the links/pricing, btw.

Because of course, desktops are as portable as laptops and carry a battery and their own screen

    (Yes, that was sarcasm)

Some people need a laptop. Such as me. Not only is it more convienient around the house for starters-easy to unplug and move it-but it's far easier to move to other places.

For example I travel to the UK for summer and winter holidays. I couldn't take a desktop with me now, could I?

i used to have desktop pc but
1 she never saw me as i was always upstairs complaining about an online fps game id just been shot in ( hours upon hours up their)

2 every other month it was downstairs on the kitchen table when she came in from work with inside it changing any number of things and was older than 8 weeks old.
dont get me wrong i originally put my first pc together for £300 but before i got the m9700 of a/w id spent a good few £s changing everything is the bloody pc, i had the thing running with vodka cooling was my last messing about with peltier hetsink in the sump as pure vodka wouldnt freeze lol.

and no you dont get the reuslts you were hoping for expect spending 25£ on vodka :)

im happy-ish with my m17 at the mo :)
