Hello, I ordered my m15x on 4/11, it's still on phase 3 or 4 so I can still cancel, I want to know if you guys think it's worth canceling and waiting til June. I don't know much about the Monetvina, I ordered the extreme processor on my m15x so if you guys would guide me through this decision that'd be awesome.

I kinda don't want to wait because the m15x is so awesome and I'm not even shure if Montevina will be good for me or not...also, if I do purchase now, can I upgrade to Montevina when it comes out?

    ty in advance

It is highly doubtful that the m15x will ever be available with montevina. It would require AW to design a new motherboard which isn't going to happen. The only way your going to see montevina is to wait and buy the next AW model that has it. While montevina is somewhat nice to have its not that big an improvement over santa rosa. I would just stick with what you have and not worry about it.

if you need a computer right now, don't wait for the montevina.
if you already have a decent desktop/laptop, then wait for it.

No one can be sure if Montevina will be on the m15x. If you can wait a few months...say mid-june to early july, then you will be able to know if AW is putting in the montevina system. Aside from that theres no way to know and other threads like this have been closed. If you can wait, then wait but since you are getting the 2.8 and all, you wont notice that much of a difference with montevina anyway. Id wait, but if you need the laptop now. Also, by then the price may come down and there will be new options available in regards to color and style on the m15x with the release of the m17x so that is the other plus side to waiting. AW may fix some of the present bugs by then in the laptop design and software.

Yet another montevina thread? This is getting out of hand... we need the FAQ sticky back!

Q: When will the m15x be updated to Montevina platform?
    A: When it's done

I agree...buy a laptop when you need it.

Since there are plenty of threads on Montevina and that any discussion of it and the M15x is just pure speculation, this thread is now closed.

If you want to continue "discussion"(what little there is) I suggest that you do it in the Owners Lounge instead of making a new thread.
