As the title suggests, is it wise to buy the M17x now, with Arrandale-based notebooks just around the corner?

Also, as I am in Australia, the Australian m17x only comes with the "Dell 1510 Draft-N half-mini card" - is this wireless chipset any good; anyone experience trouble with this?

Also, what sort of battery life am I expecting from using the 9-cell, the P8700 dual-core processor and a solid-state drive? (WLAN off, ~50-70% brightness).

In comparison to the m15x, how does the touchpad fare? I used the m15x at a Dell Kiosk and the m15x touchpad was just so choppy and laggy...nothing like what I'd expect on a $3000 AUD+ notebook.
