I just purchased the game called Grid.
Its recommended system requirments are
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.66Ghz
Display Card!: ATI Radeon X1950 Series /
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 Series
Memory: 2048MB
Free Disk Space: 12.5GB
Operating System: Windows XP/Vista
-------------------------------------
my laptop runs the game fine very nice and smooth but sometimes on a turn it would slow down really bad for a nice second or two, im wondering in your opinion do you think its my 2.4 ghz processor thats doing this? When i enter the game the graphics is all on high as default and even when i lower it to all LOW it will still slow down on a turn... let me know what you think and if it would be worth it to upgrade the laptop to a 2.5 ( if it makes a difference)
Thank you for any help I appreciate it.

It's unlikely to be a problem with CPU horsepower, so I don't think upgrading to a 2.5 will help. Some questions:
1. Does the slow-down only occur when playing this one game? If so...
2. Does the slow-down always occur at the same point within the game or is it unpredictable/random? -
updated all drivers and BIOS?

Jimmo: Yes the slowdown only occurs on this game, I have Bioshock and it runs very smoothly with no problems so far but it might be because it requires less power. The slowdown is also unpredictable/random and doesnt always happen at the same point in the game. But it is very hard to play a serious game when a big turn comes up and it does that slowdown for a second it will ruin everything...
Whizzo: The only update I did was to the Nvidia Card. Driver version is 7.15.11.7792, anything else I should update that you think will help? -
did you try GRID patch 1.2? i have this problem from time to time with grid. 1.2 makes it happen less frequent. It also happens at certain point in the main and only in that certain point. everywhere else is fine.
Should my M15x have these slowdowns?
