Should my touch keys ALWAYS open command center?

For a while I thought this was normal, but its really starting to bug me and I feel like I would have seen something here on this issue if a lot of other people had it. Any time I use certain shortcut keys, such as wifi, stealth mode, and battery toggle, windows asks if I want to give permission to command center to make changes to my computer (If I say yes, command center opens up alienfx). The changes stick, but its really annoying when I'm trying to keep my battery from overcharging while using AC power for an extended amount of time. Should I just get used to it or do I need to reinstall?

    Thanks in advance

    which laptop?

my m15x doesn't open the command center unless i touch the UFO button. other keys do different things, not open the command center.

also about overcharging... what i often do, is let it run on battery until around 70%, then hit fn+f2 until i get "battery disabled" (toggles 3 states). then plug in the ac adapter... it will not charge and i still have the UPS feature if you know what i mean.

    hope this helps.

Alright, I was hoping to hear that. I'm on an m15x as well, but I figured it would be the same for the 17.

*sigh* Hopefully by the time I reinstall CC I can get my new battery to charge, which it will not (of course). Thanks for the help

the battery issue is a common m15x issue and fixable; ive had that one !
while your machine is up and running (like now)
while sitting, flip the laptop into your chest (really)
(dont allow the screen to close, you dont want to do this in sleep mode)
unlatch the battery and remove carefully, then snap it back into place.
seems simpler than it should be, but thats it. watch it start charge now :). -hubs-

Yeah unfortunately the battery is aftermarket and the fix is not that simple. I've tried numerous things including the trick you just mentioned (I saw it in the other thread) and I still haven't had any luck. It looks like aftermarket batteries aren't compatible at this point, but we'll see what happens.

On the bright side, I don't have any trouble charging my stock battery =)

it could be something in the bios not letting the battery charge.
btw hub1100 was the originator of that battery trick. he should get all the credit.

Haha, alright I'll be sure to thank him if I ever use it. Any idea what might be in the bios that needs to be changed? Or are you implying that I should try a different bios?

EDIT: Actually I guess I am using the trick in a roundabout way, so thanks hub1100! =)
