Shrinking drive space on new m15x Alienware

Hi people i am now a proud but impatiant waiting expectant owner of an m15x lappy .

question is how do the partitioning come as, all one 500g or is it partitioned at all otherwise, if it is one and win7 is installed can one shrink the drive down so i can make another partition without destroying win 7 at all will it run fine after this has been done, as i have not used this app b4 i am pretty nervous, ordered 2 days ago and no confirmation email as yet Cant wait CANT wait CANT WAIT.... sorry shouting

 

I'm not sure as to how the drive would be partitioned; if I had to assume, I'd say there would be a 4-5 gig recovery partition (probably primary) hidden somewhere.

As to repartitioning the HDD, you could use some free partitioning tools. Two popular ones that I can remember of are Partition Master from EaseUS and GParted. These will allow you to shrink the Win7 partition without destroying any data. Good luck.
