After contemplating for months and waiting soo long for montevina, I will need a laptop before montevina is released (I blame intel :D), and after looking at the pics of the skullcap m15x, I decided to go with skullcap instead of the ripley version m15x! Here are the specs:

Design & Display: Silver Skullcap Design
    Display: 15.4" WideXGA+ 1440 x 900 LCD (720p) with Clearview Technology
System Lighting: Alienware® AlienFX® System Lighting - Blue
    Video/Graphics Card: 512MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8800M GTX
    Processor: Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T9300 2.5GHz (6MB Cache 800MHz FSB)
Operating System (Office software not included): Windows Vista® Home Premium with Service Pack 1
Will replace promptly with my copy of XP :)
Notebook Tuners and Remotes: Without Media Center Remote Control or TV Tuner
    Memory: 1GB Dual Channel DDR2 SO-DIMM at 667MHz – 2 x 512MB
Upgrading to 4gb, because the prices on the site are criminal ;)
System Drive: 120GB 7,200RPM (8MB Cache) w/ Free Fall Protection
Upgrading to 320gb 5400, no longer available on the site
    Optical Drives : 8x Dual Layer Burner (DVD±RW, CD-RW)
    Wireless: Internal Intel® Wireless 4965 a/b/g/Draft-N Mini-Card
Sound Card : Internal High-Definition Audio with surround sound
Keyboard Options: AlienFX® Illuminated Keyboard – Exclusive Design
Warranty: 1-Year AlienCare Toll-Free 24/7 Phone Support w/ Onsite Service

Hope everything works out! :D
EDIT: Where/when do I get the account number for myhive? Wanna slipstream the SATA drivers into XP CD :D

Congrats on your system hopefully you don't have any issues. As for your account # you won't get it till you receive your system.

Congrats on ordering. i would recommend upgrading the warranty later on.

Once you recieve you system, there will be a black leather binder. In that black leather binder will be a white card that flashes rainbow colors in the lower left part of the binder. You account number will be there. The agent number is your account number.

Would anyone mind rapidly sharing the SATA drivers, if it isn't too much to ask? ;)

    Hi bhattsan,
You'll find the Sata driver in the downloads and drivers section of the Alienware website. Looke for the driver entitled "Intel RAID driver (F6 - Floppy Disk) " Also, I'm not sure how normal it is to blow through all the phases. So far, my phases have be moving along as expected (taking about 2 phases per day). I'm still in phase 7, so hopefully it will be finishing up soon.

Grats on the purchase of your Alien :)
The Skullcap does seem to be having 90% less of the probs of the Ripley, hope that trend continues with you !!
