So yeah. Good luck playing Crysis on that. Tried reseating the cards, and made sure SLI is activated. I'm using the old stable Alienware drivers, but still, no avail.
Any tips?
-
ouch. either your GPUs are down the drain, or your driver is corrupt.
-
The beta drivers don't seem to help and I don't know if my GPU's are dead. No artifacts and SLI bar works fine when shown.
Any idea who I should contact for this? -
Use rivatuner and check out what your cards clock and mem speeds are running at. It's most likely downclocking from heat. I had an issue similar to this, called Alienware, and had them ship me new heatsink assemblies. My temperatures dropped by 5-10C idle and 15C under load. I idle now at 60C and 85C under load where before I was 70C idle and topping out at 100-110C. Oh, and the GPU would downclock almost IMMEDIATELY after I started any 3d app.
I couldn't fix this for vista, but in XP, I uninstalled the drivers, booted up in safe mode, used driver cleaner, then installed the latest XG drivers. I had to get a .inf fromlaptopvideo2go to get it to work though. -
Correct, my cards are downclocking and I'm idling at - woah - 78°C. I'll call them tomorrow and ask for a heatsink. Do I need anything else? (Like thermal paste, or whatever)
My CPU clock isn't stable either (ticks between 2326 and 2328 MHz). Should I worry? -
even your CPU seems to be throttling because of the heat. you really need to check up those GPUs

I would recommend using the thermal paste they provide that's already on the heatsink when you receive them and here's why:
I actually self applied arctic silver 5 several times and every time I ALWAYS got higher temperatures on both load and idle. I had always assumed these were the normal temps. It wasn't until I received my replacements did I realize that thermal paste they provide already on the heatsink was not only sufficient, but MUCH better.
Take great care not to remove the thermal paste on the heatsinks when it arrives. Especially the paste on the northbridge. It tends to come off along with the tape. The tape has to be removed before installing.
Slow m9750. Something went horribly wrong.
