So Alienware is providing false advertisement huh?

On 10/11, Alienware offered the Gears of War 4 code for customers who bought the new AW15 and I bought it on that day. I was also promised by the sales rep and reps from order support that I will obtain the code when item ships. Well today it ships and no code. I spoke to order support and spoke to Nithin_R and this rep told me I'm not eligible for it without giving me a reason why. I asked for a supervisor and he would not help me.

Is there a Alienware customer support or better yet, the link to BBB so I can file a complaint?

Well, that sucks. You should be eligible for it. I think all Pascal notebook owners are. I already have my code that came for free with my P870DM3 that is in production. Maybe post something on their Facebook or tweet Dell Support and someone else can help you. I don't think it costs them anything, but you just got hooked up with an idiot that doesn't care about customers.

You should never believe their sales representatives. They are not the brightest bunch, no offense. I've dealt with many of them over the years. They will say anything.

Always get an email confirmation, too. Never rely on word of mouth.

 

As others have said, the sails rep will tell you the moon landing was fake if they get you to buy one of their computers. They are more or less entirely useless.

 

I got an update. The Customer service manager called me up and I explained the issue. After sending proof that I was promised the code, I got an email after one hour with the Gears of War 4 code. I'm glad it got solved in the end

NICE! All is well that ends well. Glad it worked itself out so quickly.

 

BBB works, but you should be able to create a ticket and follow up with it through customer service very easily and get that code + compensation for spending hours chasing them for it when they promised it. Time = Money after all.

 

Do you know when this ended? I am curious because I also saw this all over their New Alienwares and I too didn't get it, but I am unsure if I ordered by the right time

That's what I thought, I knew I saw it when I ordered it. But I didn't get a 1070 or 1080, I got a 1060. From what I saw, it was advertised on all their "New Alienware 15/17" or I misread it

 

I got the 15 with 1060 and got a code for GoW4. Order 10/17.

Microsoft was running a promotion too. If you registered your GoW4 for XBox One (GoW 4 is a play anywhere game, so you get both Windows and XBox One) you got GoW2, 3 and one other I forget the name of for 360. They play on the one in backward compatibility mode.

 

I ordered 10/18 but I don't believe I got a code, I'll have to contact them. Was it inside the box with the laptop ? I ordered over the phone so maybe that's why . Dell seems to respond very slow lately to their email too so it'll probably be like 3 days before I even can see if I can get the code haha

 

Was an e-mail from [email protected]. Sent me to a website with a temp password to get the code.

 

I ended up chatting on their customer care thing and having the key given to me like that. Didn't expect it to be that simple. Thanks a lot for this thread though, I had forgotten about the promotion entirely haha

 

Bought a 17 in R4 with Tobii on Oct 24th. Called to get the code for watch dogs 2. They told me they were out of keys? The website is still advertising the deal. Called and spoke with a supervisor Raj who was very unhelpful. No code given, no apolgy. So I filed a dispute with the BBB. Will see how that works out. Also wrote to the AW facebook page. I find it pretty crappy that they will advertise something that you have absolutely no chance of receiving.

 

So the AW facebook replied to my service tag:

"Thank you very much! We have checked the account, but we are afraid your order does not apply for the Watch Dogs 2 promotion because this it was placed on 10/25/2016 and the promotion applies on orders placed after 10/31. "

I could have easily cancelled the order and placed the order again to qualify for the offer. This is why I called before I received my device. I didn't get the laptop until 11/15. I think there was a GOW4 offer before the WD2 offer but ended on 10/21. So I ordered during that week where no free game was offered. This still doesn't explain why the people on the phone said they ran out of keys, which sounds like complete BS. I guess I will just see how the BBB claim turns out, because calling in and complaining and messaging on FB hasn't helped.

 

Well if you ordered outside of that date there is nothing you can do. It sucks but they are not obligated to give you a free game.

 

D***. Maybe check your temps and see if there are any issues then see if you want to keep it.
