How many of you are going to be waiting in line at Best Buy, Game Stop or Frys to purchase Wrath of the Lich King at 12:01am tomorrow night (actually Thursday Morning)?
I own two AW lappies (see my sig), so who knows, I may let my son drive and play on the way home, as I have an external EV-DO verizon card![]()
How many of you are taking Friday off, so as to start levelling to 80? I am currently in between consulting assignments, though I do have a interview on Thursday at 2:30pm, dang it all. That means I will have to get some sleep on Thursday morning...lol.
I cannot wait to start a Deathknight!! How about you?

I don't personally play WoW but I'm sure a friend of mine will skip a day of school or work just to camp out to get a hold of this. He did that for The Burning Crusade and I don't doubt he'll do it again.

I have a copy on pre-order coming in from Best Buy, but I may have to snag a local copy if I see one.....
I loved the original. I wasn't so hardcore for TBC and across my various toons I raided much less than in the original (Mags, Gruuls, ORBS, ZA, Kara (which is super UBRS now), and occasional trips to SSC, TK), but WotLK is bringing it back home to Azeroth.
With that being said, I tend to wait a week or two before really digging into ANY game so the initial bugs/crashes/issues can be worked out. For TBC and even EQ II xpacs, I spent time just farming and making a killing then leveling when the Broker/AH dies down. -
WoW....hahaha....is that even a real game?
(as an avid L2 player and fan, i must devalue your carebear game) -

Hey! I threw EQ II in there.

AoC FTW. ....

Thinking about it, wow is one time-consuming game.
-
Yeah and a lot of people have become addicted to it.
-
I'll be playing warhammer
-
Wow is a great game, but the pvp is kinda stupid i hate when u are in a fight and your oponent starts jumping around thats so whack. Shadowbane/Warhammer online/aoc= pvp FTW.

I've never been a big fan of WoW PvP, ever. Leveled a few toons on PvP and PvE servers (still don't like the new xfer option from PvE -> PvP, but Blizz likes their $$$), but I played before BGs and TM/SS was the place to be for PvP'n.
I definitely prefer PvE. If I want some carnage, I go play UT or Quake. -
L2 = FTW
there is no other pvp game that can match it. WoW is extreme carebear compared to L2.
Now WHO on the other hand is a near EQII game but with better pvp then EQII.
LONG LIVE L2 -
Getting with chicks is also time consuming too. In fact this friday I'll be busy all night
.
Some people choose WOW. Honestly I don't think it's bad to play WOW because I used to but I decided it wasn't for me. So yea I won't be installing WOTLK on my laptop but I'm sure at least one of my friends will be playing it all weekend.
Btw I'm jealous of that EV-DO card -
I have friends who bought AW ALX desktops just for WOW, Overkill system! I thought that they are crazy! But yep, WOW is a crazy and addicted game, Just like some ppl on Star Craft!

Diablo III will free us all!

I haven't installed on my m15x and don't really play wow but I gave my little bro a ride to bestbuy to get his copy which he is now happily playing on his dell

I was there at the midnight release at EB in my town. I was surprised at how many people were there really. It's a rather small town and there was atleast 60 or 70 people.
I won't get to play until 9 PM tonight though cause I gotta go to work. But once I'm off, it's straight until Sunday night!
And my buddies are bringing their PCs over on Saturday and we're gonna be leveling together all night. -
Oh nice! Sounds fun.
-
My lappy is coming in tommorow so I hope to get WOWTLK installed when I buy it.

I ordered the CE (Collectors edition) and I didnt get the Mousepad inside!!??
I ordered from Amazon and while I respect that they delivered on time, it annoys me that it is missing a piece. Now I contacted Amazon and they can offer a partial refund only as they cannot get replacements....
I need to contact Blizzard but does anyone know where I can do this? I am in the UK... -
if you payed via CC, you could dispute the purchase thru them as well.
you paid for a product from a company and did nto get what you were promised and ordered.
seems fraud to me.
i can not get the blizzard info from the network i am on right now. if i remember to get it later i will post....but no promises. -

Ok thanks Ryujin!

I play wow on my laptop now... but I bought this for games like Assassin's Creed, The Witcher and NWN2. If I had just wanted to play wow I would have just used my desktop.
WotLK is kinda a ripoff though. $40 and you can only use it if you are level 70... oh if you are 55 you can make a deathknight. Other than the 70s... it's pretty useless. NWN2 comes out with a new expansion on Tuesday I think and it's a whole new adventure and whatnot... and it's only $30.
The least blizzard could do is make a bit of a graphics update. -

The game is 4yrs old. At this point, all there is is high end content. If you're new to the game or haven't hit 60, there is no reason to buy TBC let alone WotLK. Blizzard has made 1-60 really easy to solo and even 61-70 can be soloed. With the massive jump in gear power (as was with original -> TBC), there isn't any compelling reason to run the dungeons at 58-60 nor 68-70 nor bother to gear up unless you want to twink at 19/29/39/49/59/69.
I do like Blizzard's large interval between introducing paid Xpac's, though. Unlike EQII where an Xpac seems to drop every 6 months, Blizzard patches in a lot of new content to keep players satiated till a meaningful Xpac drops. -
Decided to jump back into WOW to roll a DK -- will probably get bored again in month or two and jump back out. Waiting to get on servers SUCKS!
-
So can you play WOTLK with everything on max settings?
Even on a 1920x1200 display?
I'm considering buying the M15x so I can hopefully play WoW on max settings and still be portable -
electrosoft Perpetualist Matrixist
Yup, but I will say that the Xpac does tax it a smidge more and my fps drops to ~25-30 in some areas. They did say they were going to push the engine a bit and up the graphics in the xpac, so it's ok.
-
Feels like 1 in every 5 players I see now is another DK clone running around on their little Warlock Felsteed copies lol too bad DK's didn't get mini-dragon mounts instead or anything that didn't look like a re-do of another class specific mount. /obvious bitter lock player
Wonder how many of them are on AW's.
So are all you WoW fans ready to install WOTLK on your AW lappy?
