    So guys how about you help me out. So I have gotten my M15X back and it still has not been fixed and it has only been in my hands for about a week. I have more problems other than the speakers this time. This time the right side of the case is bulging out and starting to lift. This is really a massive problem, like the speakers were bad but.....damn. Anyways the left side is starting to do the same thing, it seems like the whole body is off lined. And not to mention the good old left speaker still screeching at me. I will provide you guys the same pictures and videos I provided Armando. Be warned, I did this on my camera so it isn't very good,lol. It did get Armando to offer me a replacement machine but am I going to have to put up with another AW disaster or should I just get a refund....I'm sure $3000 can get me something good. Thanks guys for all your help it is always appreciated.

    Just get the refund... Given the way things are changing in the laptop's market (and given that AW is not changing absolutely anything on terms of quality improvement regarding the m15x), it is really the most inteligent thing to do.
    I'm sorry to hear that though... The more people that have to go through this, the more I despise AW. It's really that bad company...

    I can't hear the speaker issues. I thought I heard some weird fan noise over your gpu fan, but that's about it. As far as the "bulging", I mean... I sort of have the same thing if you're talking about the slight protrusion along that case crease where two pieces of plastic fit together. I have some slight push to mine, whereas I don't on the left, but I don't know if I'd call that a gross defect or anything. Everything else looks normal. It's a plastic shell on a magnesium alloy chassis. It's going to flex a little. If you want a more hard plastic, then get a refund and go with something else. I'd probably take the replacement just to ease your mind.

    The video really does not at all do justice to the sound that comes out that left speaker. In that one video you can kinda hear it, but I am pretty sure its from the flex in that strip that goes across the speaker.

    I mean, you could always wait for something like the Sager NP8660 (check it on their website). That's the new Clevo 15", but then again you take a gamble with that one. I just looked at the image gallery on sager's website and the thing has a single intake fan on the bottom, and a single vent on the back. I can't imagine it running icy cool under any circumstances but we shall see.

    for the speaker video go to the sound options and make the sound only come out of the left speaker. it would make it more clear to what is happeneing with the speaker.

    I wold strongly suggest refund. And who know maybe with some great competition AW will fix the M15x. I know some competition finally in the GPU market has brought prices more and more in check.

    Update: I tried to pry those plastic edges out and sure enough mine did the same thing as yours if that makes you feel any better. The plastic edges are just made to approximate each other but it's not exact and they aren't glued together so if you really try to pull them apart, you can do that, but I certainly don't consider that a defect. It's more of a manufacturing anomaly than anything else. Some of you guys have eagle eyes, lol.

    In all seriousness though, if you don't necessarily "need" the computer now and can wait for awhile, I might take the refund, wait for the new clevo reviews to come out and then make up your mind. You can always re-order the m15x again in the future if you choose. That leaves you with the most options and the new sager will be roughly $1000 cheaper. It's really up to you and what you're priorities are.

    There are things in the new Sager that are attractive to me such as the 1680x1050 resolution which is what I would consider the sweet spot for a 15" display, the fingerprint reader, and the probable increased rigidity and build quality (9800mGT will have roughly the same performance as the 8800mGTX so I don't consider that a significant advantage). The negatives are that it's ugly as sin (relative perspective), has no chance of approaching the battery life of the m15x, and doesn't have many of the cool features that the m15x has such as smartbay flexibility and AlienFX lighting.

    However, after watching your video, you seem to really hone in on the structural problems of the m15x and the flexible plastics seem to really bother you. You poked and prodded all the soft parts of the plastic over and over which leads me to believe you're really going to be fixated on some of the weak aspects of the m15x. Those weak areas in the chassis are still going to be there with a replacement albeit probably in new areas so you've got to be ok with that. I'd be willing to gamble that your gut is telling you to get a refund and go with something else, but it really depends on how far you're willing to go to enjoy the m15x. I think all of us who own it and haven't gotten a refund have had to make a few compromises in our own minds to enjoy the computer. I know I have.

    @Groove,
    Now I mean I love the look of the M15x and it handles games quite well. What really worries me is 6 months down the line and this weak plastic shell really starts to fall apart. Remember this is only a week of use and I don't want to end up in Fex's situation and countless others. Right now I'm leaning for a refund

    Right, but again milcs, it's missing key features that 15" notebook buyers are usually interested in. It has none of the advanced power saving features of the m15x and contains a simple 8 cell battery that will provide roughly 2 hours of battery life with some change. We've all seen some of the 5-7 hour benchmarks on tweaked m15x's. The clevo doesn't have a prayer of approaching these numbers. It's a typical evolution in notebook upgrades and design but it's not particularly innovative IMO. The 9800mGT is not going to be noticeably faster than the 8800mGTX. The Crysis benchmarks only showed a 1fps increase. That leaves a computer that might have superior build quality, but you end up having to make sacrifices so in the end it really depends on what each person is looking for in their computer.

    Believe me Daedric, I understand. One argument would be that as long as you are within warranty, it really doesn't matter because it can always be repaired, but then again that's a big hassle. We've got personal experiences ranging the whole gamut and horror stories sided with love stories about the m15x so it's a gamble either way. I personally think the structural weakness really bothers you and it would probably bother you even with the speaker issue gone and the corner issue fixed. As much as I'd love to see you happy with the m15x and others like milcs, I just don't think it would happen so my vote is to get that refund and go with the new clevo while saving yourself some money along the way. If you can go without the pretty looks and battery life, that is.

    Of course you are right...
    So let me rephrase...

    Not to mention... faster and brand new technology! Better build quality, better CS, better gaming performance (even if it's marginal... the M15x IS NOT the fastest 15.4'' anymore)... But only 2 hours of battery and not 5 hours. :D

    Well milcs let us know which clevo reseller you intend to order from so we can all warn them up front to put together a 100 man team to build your computer to perfection. God help the sager forum and CS agents if you find anything wrong with it.

    I see the major concerns of groove75 are performance/features, while milcs's are built quality/CS. No point to argue.

    Plus, we need some more clevo users on here to compare numbers with! I'm intensely curious just how cool you guys are able to get this thing with it's "superior cooling". ;) I'm assuming this is also why they aren't offering any GTX models in the config. [IMG]

    Clevo better CS depends which reseller you picking up.

    Beside there isn't that restocking fee? If yes, i would take a replacement and give the m15x a second try, if no, them get a refund.

    Also, i won't buy the clevo m860 for now, just wait some reviews come out. And if they are really that "outstanding", them get one.

    @Groove75

    I really think clevo is taking account that the new platform, which consume less energy, produces less heat.

    lol, well we're all probably a little neurotic. I once returned a TI89 calculator 5 times to 3 different stores because I kept seeing "defects", in college. Luckily I'm not quite as bad these days but I tend to have relapses from time to time. :D
