So when my M17x does arrive, what would I want to do first?

My M17x just shipped, so I am wondering, is there anything important that I should do before installing games and whatnot? The programs like McAfee antivirus trial can just be uninstalled right? So would I want to reinstall windows or is it not necessary?

Also, what programs would I want to get for benchmarks and stuff? Where can I get them?

    Thanks

Bah, everyone is so concerned with setting it up right and benching the second they get it :/. Just partition the drives the way you want, install some games and have some fun! Get to benching + uninstalling and stuff after you have had some fun with it.

Take some time to enjoy it :).

Hehe, alright I'll do that : ) The way things are going it looks like my school year will be better than my summer ^^ (plus I hate working full time)

I have a question about partitioning drives. Is there any performance benefit to it or is it just for organizing? Because my laptop is pretty well just going to be for school and (mostly) video games, the majority of my data will be stored on my desktop.

No performance benefit, but it makes reinstalling OS's easier. You make a partition with your OS + installed things, and another for all of your files (music, videos, school work etc). If you want to reinstall, just format the partition with your OS on it, and reinstall. That way none of your other files get touched.

Haha, that's what I like to hear! :D
