Following this short thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/har...762100-color-controller-laptop-s-display.html - I have found a device that improve the color quality of the display while using the HDMI- Input.

Color3 Advanced HDMI Color Processing Device - Newegg.com (Device is small, same length as my htc 8x but much thicker)

That device can be found for $20 every now and then and was good enough for eliminating the washed out colors of the display when playing Wii-U games in it. The display only comes with 6 preset (I use 6) unlike the commercial one which can be calibrated however you like (cost $700), however, the user manual says that you can download additional color tables from www.color-3.com which is sadly now dead. Even if the page worked, I have no idea how you would download more tables into the device as it only have two HDMI-In and one Out, but I will keep looking for a way to add more presets in it if possible.

    That's all for now,

    Cheers.

Thanks for sharing what worked for you. Usually the previously posted fix works for most users.

The Wii U doesnt have an option for switching between FullRGB and LimitedRGB so that might be a reason, however, I tried to alternate between them with the nvidia tool and test it out but with the same results (unsaturated colors, bad contrast, etc).
