I had my laptop connected to the TV through HDMI, and i always had it connected to the laptop, what I never knew was that even if the TV is off, the video card is still processing 2 pictures... I found this out when I realized that the card is at 79C degreees and the tv was off.... i couldnt lower the temperature until i actually unpluged the HDMI from the laptop... did you guys know that? I thought if tv was off it wasnt really doing n ething but i was wrong.

I guess the software should have a feature to detect that, I thought HDMI can send and receive.

I may be wrong but have you switched off the TV completely or just using remote? try to unplug it from power source, might be a bug with TV :)

It is the end point who sends the signal back (in this case the TV) that I am still alive and keep sending me signals. What happen if you just put one side of cable into HDMI out of m15x... does it still have the same issue?

I never used HDMI so really cant tell whats going on.

it will still send the signal from the laptop cause you are making the connection there and that is where the signal originates.
thus, in order to terminate the signal, one would need to terminate from the originating unit.
