    I think some people will know that the m15x has 2 different 8800M GTX heatsinks.

    Here are the two heatsinks side by side

    The two different build dates are 2/1/08 and 1/22/08.

    Unfortunately the one with the date 1/22/08 could not be mounted on my 8800 since it could not fit. I could not test the other heatsink to see which is better. i was wondering if anyone else had that heatsink so maybe we could find the better of the two heatsinks and make the 8800 temps a bit more tolerable. I was thinking maybe the 8800 has another physical layout so one of the heatsinks could not fit. Either that or AW sent me a heatsink for the 8700 or 8600.

    That's exactly it. The triangle heatsink is for the 8700/8600s, not the 8800.
