Hi everyone I was just wondering. I've been thru quite fiasco with this alienware I just ordered mine completely off the alienware site but when ordered mine at very end of febuary... when I ordered mine I didn't see the windows xp option for this system, so I went with vista. Am I screwed if I need to go back windows xp with drivers and such in future ??I have alot High End graphics programs photoshop etc. I have all these on students budget threrefore all of them might not be legal on my inspiron 6000 I'am new to alienware and the high-end pc notebook market.

Any Solutions, Comments or Suggestions would be highly appreciated

Your not screwed at all AW released the xp drivers for the m15x. I currently have xp and vista both instaled (as well as some others). If you can live with vista I would stick with it because Vista has a lot more power options that are great with the m15x. Then again the choice is yours.

i wouldnt recommend you use cracked programs since you will most likely be using the university's network and if they find out you are going to be in some trouble.

if the university does require software they usually sell it at a discounted price for students or like my university they will sell it in 1 cheap price bundle.

Thanks!! for all the replys guys. I appreciate it unfortunately, I couldn't afford the student discounted versions of programs so I had to them aquire thru other means. I bought my Dell Inspiron 6000, it was refurbished cause I was in a bind at the time, but I just graduated my associates degree Interactive Media Technology and I'am looking for something alot better with alienware I hope um not wrong? my computer can barely run photoshop CS2 with 512MB of(bad memory) and multi-task with illustrator and indesign running.......... I hope this alienware will be my savior, I was gonna upgrade to gig and replace my bad memory along with my blue screens of death but when I looked into CS3 Suite Min Requirements, I almost cried. I figured I should get better notebook computer now or be sorry later, My Insipron 6000 lasted me thru college for 3 years.

the m15x will do just fine. Especially with the cpu and ram you selected. although the RAM is a little pricey.
