    *edit, SOUND FOR TITLE.

Hi all, I've got a small problem. last night i watched a few music videos on google videos, then closed laptop and went to sleep. Thsi morning, I don't remember when, but i noticed that while my laptop was shut, the speaker lights and my external mouse and keyboard lights were still on. They always shut off when i close my laptop to put it to sleep.
I shutdown and restarted but still didn't fix sleeping problem. then i tried watching anotehr music video on google. Now i have no sound today either. headphones didn't work when i plugged them in too. under sounds on control panel it says my speakers are putting out sound.
I did notice that windows installed some updates yesterday, maybe that has something to do with it? i even pulled my battery out and unplugged, still didn't fix it.

Strange issue. Fastest thing to try is to remove the soundcard in device manager, and reinstall the drivers. They may have corrupted. DL the ones from the Dell site. Might be newer then the ones on the CD.

thanks, i tried taht, didnt wrok at first. dealeted soemthing that anotehr website suggested and it started to play sound again. so i'd say that worked. and for the sleep problem, jsut some stupid thing microsoft didn't tell em about. i had sharing media on under windows media player so i could lsiten to music on my xbox. that didn;t let my M17x go to sleep. all solved now. thanks
