WOW
I called Alienware on Friday and asked about how long it takes to get out of Phase 1 and they said to call their verification team on Monday as it just closed when I called. So I called them today, Monday June 16, 2008.
866-459-2479 verification team
That is Dell financials Verification Team!
Make sure you are at the phone number you used when you placed the order. They will ask you all kinds of security questions and then verify by calling you back on the phone, when she called me back she said "I can now verify your order" and moved me to the next phase! She said it may take up to 3 hours for the system to update
Wow, maybe dell will get this stuff straight after all.

Well it took a while to get past phase 3 but now I'm flying through the phases since last thursday the 12th when I was moved to phase 4, then the next day it was put to phase 5, saturday phase 6, and today phase 7!!
very happy
-
That didn't happen to me, I went to phase 3 in 3-4 days, didn't even have to send in any photocopies, etc. I guess it depends on the payment method you use.
But from phase 3 to phase 9.. that's another story. -
-
is it normal to be in phase 2 for more than 2 weeks?????
-
i dont think its normal to be in phase 2 for that long.
a few questions:
which AW website are you using, .co.uk or .com
are you paying by credit card, debit card or finance.
and finally which system have you ordered, 15x or 17x
if you are paying by finance nothing will happen until you receive the paperwork by post for you to sign and then return.
if you are paying by card and using the .co.uk site you might get an email asking you to verify who you are and to prove you own the card. they ask for a copy of your card next to a utility bill to prove that the card is at the same address.this is a pain but it is to protect you from fraud. then as its such a large sum your bank might block it as they did with me even though i dont have a limit on my card.(something to do with being in ireland).
ring AW and ring your bank, thats all you can do. -
My parents bought it for me, but i think they used the Alienware Titanium Account. but ill give them a call anyways and see whats up. but i take it thats not normal for it to take that long huh?
-
Well it takes time. Some people fly through it, others have to wait a while. I've been in Phase 4 for nearly two weeks now, but it could be worse (am I right Mr. DJ?). I think I was in Phase 1 for 3 days, and then I was moved to Phase 3.
-
i was in phase 4 for 35 days, so you have it way better than me.
-
-
-
wow that gives me hope! i tried calling today but they were closed but ill try again tomorrow and see how much i can annoy them to speed up my order
-
@Lolo - Really I do not think calling them would be the right way to go about handling your order. The fact of the matter is when they get the parts they build your system VERY quickly and that is that. I think calling them would just be an annoyance but you can do it if you want because I know a lot of you are antsy to get your hands on your new systems
-
It does help for Phase 1 and Phase 2, you would think they would call or email you if there was a payment issue, but they do not.
I spoke with some assclown and he said my order was on hold because there was a $15 shortage on the payment because of a miscalculation in the order system. They never called or emailed this information, they just let it sit, I only found out when I called to see what the delay was. I was so pissed they did not let me know I told them I want to cancel the order, he was all cooperative then, but I said to late, I want to cancel.
He transferred me to cancellations, I spoke with Gladys, AWESOME LADY, and she said the guy made a mistake, it was OVERCHARGED $15 dollars and I was getting a credit. He just read the screen wrong. The system just did not update to Phase 3 yet. So I didn’t cancel my order.
SO DO CALL when you are in Phase 1 or Phase 2, alot of the information is needed from you, after Phase 2, you cannot change a wait for parts or the wait for your turn in production.
-
Gladys was a very informative lady to talk with! My order was displaying Phase 2 for about a week and a half there, and after calling AW they were able to tell me that my order was actually in phase 3.
-
@Jeep - That makes sense. I thought you meant to call them when you were in phase 4 or 5 telling them to build your notebook faster or something
. Sorry about that.
-
Just an FYI, I went from Phase 2 over to Phase 3 yesterday and just a bit more than 12 hours later I am in Phase 5 -
Mr DJ, you are right. On my deposit payment to get things rolling, my bank blocked my payment to AW, due to them being in Ireland. I would advise anyone in the UK to ring up their bank beforehand and pre-warn them to authorise the payment.
(Not wanting to get off topic, but I just wanted to quickly ask you, Daedric, if your M15x is giving you any problems at all? A quick reply won't hurt the thread).
EDIT: Is it just me, or does anyone else in the UK have trouble understanding what a lot of the AW customer support people are saying? So far, I've spoken to a few French peeps, one American, and a couple of Irish people. (The American was the easiest to understand). -
your moving very fast jeep but.. i thought you canceled?

At 11:30 am my time on 6-18-08 I received an email saying I was moved to Phase 5, 3 hours later I am on Phase 6.
Perfect.
Hopefully they will continue to improve moving forward. -
Wow JK, you've moving alot faster than I am! I ordered on the 29th of May, and I just went into that wierd backward phase step. I hope yours arrives soon.
-
i guess i didn't need to call them after all, unless my parents did without telling me cuz i went all the way to phase 5 now!!!
Speed Up The Order Process!!
