So someone spilled it on my M17x that was bought in June. Now the thing won't turn on. I turned the computer off immediately after it got wet, and put it by a fan all night to dry out. Just tried to turn it on, and it won't. I noticed the blue light on the AC adapter turns off when plugging it into the computer, which led me to believe it was a power supply problem. Smelling the back of the computer it kind of smells like something shorted out.
Also the keyboard and power buttons are sticky and messed up I think. I have the 1 year default warranty. What are my options?
Thanks for any advice.

Well you can try putting in a normal warranty request and see if they will fix it. But that's why I always purchase complete care, I always have drinks near my notebook and I know one of these days something's going to spill on it.

Should I just say I woke up and it wouldn't turn on?

p.s. they will find out that you spilled something on it. who ever spilled it on it should replace it. balls up -

You can disassemble the system and do a full clean-up before sending it to Dell. In that case you will get it fixed.

I would just call up the warranty section of Dell and add complete care.
Then file a claim. I did this a few years ago when my cc warranty ran out and I forgot to extend it.
It worked just fine for me. -
its worth it...obviously... lol -
sad to know the m17x don't survive this cass the waranty upgrade then wait a couple days and call back like sugested
(the m17 survive vodka but i feared they would not replace my keyboard however they did)
