Stealth Black vs. Nebula Red

if its something like #A40000 then its a beautiful color.

 

Red is way sexier than the black. My r2 was black first r3 was black and now i got red and dam.. boy am i happy. Its way better looking than the charcoal grey Dell calls black. Plus the inside is black so it looks EXACTLY the same when using it.. just looks WAY better to others and when its closed. I voted black though. The more people get black the more rare mine is

 

Red is absolutely gorgeous compared to black.

I doubted red before seeing one in real life and the pictures just don't do it justice

 

I don't know why but in this image I will link the M14x leaked image the color actually looks very good. Like the image of the red one on the Alienware site. All the other images I have seen of the red one make it look sort of orange/pinkish and washed out.

That sounds familiar, although I chose the Aurora's color to match my M17x-R2.

After some research, I found that that IS the laptop...provided you configure the Alien Command Center correctly...

 

I would choose another color, Alienware used to offer lots of colors. I would love to see blue or "Alien Green" again.

I see they were doing a Terra Grey or something of the sorts not long ago.

i personally went with red, both are cool colors, but i do not like the black they use, in certain cases, depending on lighting it looks gray (almost sliver). if it were metallic black then i be all over the black.

 

I went with Red just to have something different - I'm sick of the standard black laptops.

 

Cyborg Green for the win! I wish Dell would bring those back, but next dellienware will definitely be red unless they introduce something else. My m11x r2 is stealth black and it has lost it's appeal, my only concern is that the fx colors won't play nicely with a red shell.

 

not a bad idea.. if you pick your nose and dont wash your hands nobody will notice if you handled your laptop.

 

I would personally choose black because it gives a sense of quality also it looks like a complete system (red would look like DIY stuff to me).

 

I'm ordering black, but I actually prefer red. My Vostro right now is red.

 

Can someone with a red (non-soft touch) laptop bring it to a autopaint store and get the color scanned? I want to find out what the recipe is for that red so I can paint my m11xr1 Nebula red.

EDIT: Never mind, I just odered a m17x part off ebay that is red, I can just use that to get the paint codes.

 

I would pick black, it would i would find it annoying not having it all the same colour.

I voted for red but I ended up ordering black due to the massive tilt towards black on the poll............... but I ended up sleeping on it FOR TWO nights lol, called my rep back and cancelled black and reordered red, funny thing, my EDD went from July 22 to July 18.

personally i love my silver but they don't offer it anymore, i would have went red, however they didn't offer it when i bought my lappy.

 

I sort of regret picking red. By default it's much cooler than the black, but the customizable lights don't look good in any other color other than red, on the red laptop.

The black has so many options though

 

How much would it cost to buy all the black shell pieces? I thought I saw them listed in a parts list somewhere?

 

I'm not sure, if it's under $100 I'd definitely consider it. Call or contact a techie I suppose, you can use the warranty to get someone over your place to install it.

I was all for Nebula Red, until it came to that order page.......and i selected Black!!!!

Stealth Black just looks sleeker. There's a reason just about every supercar comes in Black.

Anyway, another reason why I chose RED is because a lot of people have latitudes at work, they are all black, I wanted something different. Black just does not attract attention like red will. People are used to seeing black

Black monitor, black desktop case, black keyboard, black camera, might as well keep the theme going.

 

You know what the sad part is, at least for myself. It doesn't really matter what color you go with because I find that a year down the road you just end up wanting that other color thinking the grass is greenier on the other side. Don't believe me? Look at the number of R2 users who now want Lunar Silver for whatever odd reason (Myself Included) I ended up getting the Black, but on my R3 I went red (Something different) and now I got no regrets for going red, and then suddenly have the itching notion to get silver now .

 

Dell/AW is ridiculous for dropping the silver/lunar color. IMO they are the coolest especially if you see it in person. Pics online doesn't do it any justice.

The Silver/Aluminum/Magnesium/Titanium color just oozes space alloy high quality shiznit compared to black where it smudges/oils pretty fast.

 

This. I owned R1/R2s in all three colors and this was by far the best looking option followed by black. I would not want to have taken the red laptop out of the house for sheer embarressment (simply having an AW in public screams "I'm a forever-alone geek" to a lot of people). Can't believe slilver is not an option anymore

Edit: also agreed that, of the three, silver shows smudges the least by far.

I had both of my M17x Silver and went crazy about the red seeing how other were talking about it so much, till i saw it in real life, i was meh, i'll keep silver.
Now out of three chassis, two are painted and almost done.

I voted Stealth Black since i dident want my 5kg metal beast to come out more outrageous than it already is although i think the red paint looks kick butt.

Custom white Alienwares are super awesome. Dell should start making white Alienwares.

 

Stealth Black. Understated style. But if Lunar Silver were still available that would definately be my first choice.

inspiron = plastic
m17x = aluminium (which reveals its full potential only live. there´s no picture that can match this experience).

 

When you'll see one, you'll understand it's nothing like an Inspiron.

Exactly. I was a bit hesitant when buying a refurbed R2 because it was Silver, but once I actually saw it in person it was my favourite of the three. The silver against the black plastic interior and rubber on the lid just looks cool and the most expensive-looking.

I would trade in my incoming black m18x in a second if I could get a silver one.

 

Black laptops are just to plain and common. Need some spice... Red BABY!
