I know many people have complained about latency issues and keyboard strokes getting missed. I seem to be having a different scenario from that.
I Just received a new M15x replacing an older one under warranty. I had no issues with the keyboard onthe old model.
When I type on this new model, and have my palms on the palm rest area of the notebook, every now and then the cursor will just jump back about 10 words or up two lines and my insertion point changes which makes typing very annoying. If I type without any contact to the palm rest area then things seem to work out ok. I know proper typing skills dictate not resting the palms, but I get lazy when blogging or on forums and it drives me crazy when the cursor bounces around.
I have tried at Roswell's suggestion to uninstall and reinstall the keyboard drivers. That has not changed anything.
Has anyone else experienced this with their M15X?
Thanks for any suggestions you guys might have.

It seems like your palms are touching the touchpad every now and then while you're typing.
If you go to your Mouse Settings and then go into the Synaptics Touchpad Settings ( see attachment), there should be a setting that pretty much gets your touchpad to ignore any unintended pointer/touchpad movements from your palms.Attached Files:

Ill try that Oceanus. I didnt think I was touching it but Ill give that a shot. Although I Unistalled the synaptics Touch pad completely. Ill re-install and give it a whirl.

Yeah. There you have it. It's most likely because you uninstalled the Synaptics touchpad driver then.

Thanks Oceanus that may have been it. I uninstaled ti to make sure I didnt get any issues with latency and typing. I re-installed it and so far things seem to be ok. Ill report back if the behaviour creeps up.
On a side note the install package from alienwares site, would not install for me. I kept getting some icon in the system tray and a notice that unsignedautoaccepter_FR.exe script has been halted.
I did some searching and it seem that people with the 9800M GT card get this a lot. Strange that I have to go to laptopvideo2go to get a driver I can install as opposed to the official Alienware site. -
If you experience keyboard latency with the Synaptics drivers installed, I suggest trying the workaround discussed in this thread.
As for the graphics driver issue, the drivers listed on the Alienware website is relatively old anyway. If you're able to get your graphics card working correctly with the laptopvideo2go drivers, then there's really no need to try and install the one from Alienware.
