Hi, since installing windows 7 on my M17x I have had a strange problem on startup. One problem is that the computer can't restart, it will shut down ok but upon trying to restart I just get a black screen with a white tick in the upper left hand corner. It shows the same screen when I press the power button to turn it on. The strange thing is that if I press the power button while the black screen with the white tick is up it shuts down immediatly and then if I push the power button again it boots up no problem. This isn't really stopping me from using my system but it is really, really annoying. Anyone know how to fix it?

    Thanks,

sure do! Just re flash your bios and you will be all set! I had the same problem and it fixed it right away!

You can d/l the latest driver from dell.com...and the install is a pc of cake! Just run the downloaded program and you will be all set!

Ok thanks, I have never re-flashed my bios before. Is there a guide somewhere on how to go about doing it?

As fastlappy mentioned above, no guide is necessary. just download the bios and run the installer.
