I was wondering if any one could suggest some good ram for the M15x.

I was hoping to find something with a low Cas rating.

    4-4-4-12 if it is availible.

You really don't need any specific ram. Just go with some Corsair or Crucial ram or something and you should be fine.

i've heard good things about stuff like this... but i can't attest to how good it is personally.

for me, i just bought some OCZ for my desktop. works great, though the first set of sticks in the dual-channel had to be RMA'd because of one of the chips had a fault just past the 512MB rage (it was a 4GB kit)

Though, i'm not sure how large you want the ram to be, considering AW doesn't support 64-bit OS's and 32-bit OS's will only see 3072MB.

    I thought 5-5-5-15 was faster?

CAS is supposed to be a LATENCY rating. and therefore, the lower, the better.

    ... in theory at least.

well but I don't think that you will recognize the difference between 4 and 5 in the m15x...

I'm not sure you'd see the difference on any system really...

i put this in and its running well.. same as the earlier posted link, but with heat spreaders. fits fine.

i'm actually doing some benching of it against the original memory that came with the unit now. not that expect any massive difference, just bored waiting for downclock fix :p

You're not going to see a difference between a CAS of 4 and 5, so it doesn't really matter. Memory latency does not matter that much with Intel-based systems these days.

I'd go for Corsair, OCZ, Crucial, Kingston, or Transcend memory as they have always proven to be reliable for me. G.SKILL I have had too many problems with defective memory to count.

I put in 4 GB of Corsair for under $100. Loving it!
