Suggestions for DELL/Alienware

please bring out the new version of M17x rename it to something else so we dont get confused with the older M17X version. And by the way most of us sit in the dark at night it would be nice to also have ports that have lights around them.

I always fumble around trying to connect my cables like usb or hdmi to the ports in the dark at night.

Yeah the port lightings would make this laptop complete. Yeah you could do away with those plastic now i think the new trend is ALL ALUMINIUM. If you could make it all alluminium unibody it would make it totally the best laptop in the world. Then you could try to figure out how to down size the brick like power pack as well as the thickness of the laptop.

I dont really care about those Chinese people that couldn't read or write english let alone install our stuttering and laggy software for us because i would uninstall the mcafee virus anyway as well as the stuttering synotic mouse drivers.

It would also be nice if your Indian Customer Service would stop passing me around to their friends to practise "What is your Dell Order Number" before they finally put you through to the right place even after about waiting on the phone and being on hold for over 30 minutes.

The record for me was 15th times before i got through from being asked the same question over and over "what is your ordernumber?" and "what is your name?" in one call session and yeah from 15 different people who also claim to be "Cusomter Service Reception".

But hey thumbs up on this Dell M17X i love it.

 

By making it all aluminium it would get heavier than it is right now ... and i dont think they want that since its still a laptop and its suppose to be atleast a lil portable

Has anyone really put this laptop on their laps yet? I haven't it's been on my laptop all this time and will stay there

 

Enthusiast class Notebooks will always be thick to allow for better thermal management as they will always be pushing the performance envelope. I like my thick notebook because it makes sense--thin no sense. Powerful components require powerful power supplies, a 230+watt power supply is going to be larger than what is required for say, a Macbook pro.

 

Oh, I wish I could suggest things like that! Make it out of solid gold, but make it only weigh 4 pounds. Put 4 GTX280's in 'em, not the mobile ones, the desktop ones. And make sure they're solid gold too. Also, make the case see-through, but still made of solid gold, and with LEDs imbedded so it lights up. Ok, finally lower the price a little.

 

You never know, we all wished for an SLI 280M now look at us we all got it now who knows about the gold thing i bet some tycoon already has one >>>

Yeah this is the best laptop Dell has ever made i love it. It's the most powerfull and the best looking on the plus side it's 1500 bucks cheaper than my m15x

Forgive me if I'm mistaken.... but I think you need to stop playing with your M17x (god knows how many nights you've stayed up with this baby) and go get some sleep. Judging from the amount of posts and the erratic comments I've seen from you in the last 2-3days, I'd say you need some rest

Nothing personal, just at this point I'm not sure if you're either hating your purchase or loving it to bits. Hmm...

 

The weight of the m17x is not an issue for me. I bought this knowing it was a high-end laptop, knowing that being such a powerful machine, it was going to weigh more than the average laptop, and quite honestly, I handle the weight without any problems.

Yes, I have put this laptop on my lap, and even on my chest. With a blanket, even the hot air does not irritate me, too much.

 

Putting it on your chest with a blanket will cover the intake vents on the bottom and prevent it from cooling correctly. I wouldn't do this. At least use a piece of wood or something under it.

 

hey bro u r right man lol ahahah i stayed for 2 nights playing with this new laptop but every time i play with it i find new bugs and stutters. Right now i am trying to fight this damn thing from grinding to a halt if i copy files bigger than 1 gig or play games it just grinds to a halt and freezes.

Reinstalled and respawned so many times didn't even help so i am thinking maybe my laptop is a dud.

Ithink it has something to do with Aliensense software leaking memory on me. When i just install windows 7 on it it is perfect no stutters or lag or halt of death. So it must be soemthing to do with those chinese people isntalling something they couldnt read messing up my laptop.

I like the Alienware ugly face recognition though so i keep respawning to make it work

 

Uninstall it then.

That software also increases the boot time as well.. It was one of the first things i removed. lol

I am old school. Nothing better than a 12-18 character alphanumeric password that gets changed every 45-60 days..

LOL yeah well i will probably get sick of this fad soon hahah i am cheesed off my machine keeps grinding down to a halt after copying large files or playing games memory leak problem.

I have just downloaded 12 gigs of adult only dirty naughty movies that are in 1080p format i cant even watch them on my laptop

I need these movies because i work very far from human race i need something to keep me sane.

 

It may be a bad Hard drive... I have seen that happen with seagates.. that is why i am replacing with WD... btw, I would keep the adult talk off the forums.. this isnt the place for that...

 

I strongly advice you not to respawn, a clean install is much better. You can choose whatever driver you want and the registry is still clean when choosing a certain driver.

The CC gave me problems I think it's really buggy. So I just make the color config which I want before kicking everthing off and reinstall again. Indeed the facial recognition won't work... But I don't give a cr@p.

After this look if you laptop is okay again!

 

Well at least try turning the settings down in AlienSense so its only used for login and not always actively scanning to see if you're behind the computer, maybe that will help.

anyway yeah so it could be the hard drive that is causing this problem?

When i tried to run any programs it takes 20 seconds before the program is loaded.

Rightnow i just killed my vsita 64 bit and installing fresh windows 7 on it with only the drivers i need.
