Today I went to Dell showroom. I tried the Fn + F6 to switch from Intel to nVidia mode but when I ran CPUID, I can't see the core speed increased why?

I think you are a little confused on what Fn+F6 does. It switches between two different video cards, one for gaming and one for normal stuff. I get the impression from your question that you think it increases the CPU speed, which it doesn't. However, if you enter the Bios at bootup, you can overclock the cpu to 1.73 with an easy overclock toggle. ;)

You're right, I was stupid. But I did go there the 2nd time and Enabled Overclock in the BIOS, rebooted and ran CPUID. But it still says 1.3???

Do you have to hit any other function keys to let the machine pick up the settings in BIOS??

    Does it really overclock??

I does overclock. Your just doing it wrong is my guess. Chances are you didn't save and exit from the BIOS. You have to hit F10 and enter.

Open BIOS, scroll down to overclock, scroll to enable, press enter, press F10, and enter. Then it should be OCed. Just know that CPU-Z will show the CPU freq at 1.6 GHz and not 1.73GHz.

FN+F6 simply toggles between the integrated GPU and the discreet GPU. ;)

I tried again today. F2 then enable Overclock then F10 and hot enter.

But after reboot, CPUID shows 1.3 still!!??

How do I be assured that I will get a MX11 without any hardware problem like this? If I was shipped a faulty one, how do I return?
