Does anybody know how to create a backup DVD of the partition that Alienware puts on the hard drive? This would basically be the DVD that you would have had to pay $50 for.

I doubt you can store that partition on a DVD. Its 8gb Partition.
You may not be able to boot from that DVD even if you can back it up. As a DVD FS is different than FAT32 FileSystem being used by respawn partition.

I personally don't find that partition useful. Better you delete it, install all the required software that you want on your system and set it up as fresh system that you want to restore to if anything mess up. Then using Symantec Ghost create a compressed ghost image of your hard drive/partition and keep it in some safe place. If anything mess up, it will not take more than 30 minutes to re-image your machine with that ghost image.

I was unaware of that software. Very useful, thank you.
