    How is this done?
I've just had a new set-up done in the house and they've installed several HDMI ports for me to link into the system. I've plugged the M17x into them, tried using Fn + F6, tried all the different sources on the telly, tried using Hybrid and SLI Graphics, nothing. The TV just doesn't ever pick up the Laptop.

    Has anyone done this successfully?

I don't know what telly is but assuming it's the TV what I did was just this:

    1. Connect M17x to HDTV via HDMI cable.
    2. Right-Click and went to Resolutions
    3. Extended Display to HDTV

Which is probably what you did as well.

That's it. Worked perfectly. Nothing else to do. Don't know if SLI has anything to do with it but I can play games using SLI on the TV.

Maybe after doing this you can search for the right TV-Video number if your TV has many of these?

I do this all the time on my TV for movies and games, and it's basically like WaR stated above, only I will "show only desktop 2" on the resolution screen. This allows me to extend the resolution on the TV to 1900x1080, since my laptop screen only supports 1400x900.

You'll also need to right click your sound icon is system tray, select playback devices, and make HDMI input your default audio. I've encountered some problems doing this every now and again and need to reboot.

Thanks for the help guys sorry I'm late on this one.
Where is the 'Extended Display for HDTV' setting?

I can't find this? Is it in the Nvidia display settings?

Right-Click your desktop ans select "screen resolution"
on the M17x you can also use the "FN key + F6"

No, don't have the screen res option, just Nvidia properties. I don't have anything in Display properties that I can see either. When I press Fn + F6 I only get that LCD picture, never seen the HDMI pic. Better check the bios.

Right, this is definitely the problem. My machine does not switch into the HDMI mode when I pres FN + F6, it just repeats the LCD screen each time. I've checked the services, can't see anything, BIOS looks normal, can't see anything obvious in the start-up settings. Am I missing a driver or something?

Could somebody tell me if they still get the HDMI setting pic come up even if nothing is plugged into the HDMI port?

I dont think your TV is detected thats why Extended HDTV options arent there. It will usually automatically detect the TV the moment you plug it in.

What TV is it and what HDMI cable?

Sorry to bump this guys but I'm getting nowhere with this. I have eliminated any handshaking probs between my PC and my AV System by just pluggin an HDMI cable straight from the TV to the M17x. The HDMI option on the screen lights up which means the TV is aware of the laptop but I get no signal and pushing Fn +F6 doesn't do anything. The laptop just isn't outputting an HDMI signal.

Have I switched something off somewhere or lost a driver or something? Is there a way of confirming that HDMI is function other than plugging it into a TV?
I have plugged other HDMI devices into the port on the TV and they work straight away.

Any help would be hugely appreciated, I've spent a small fortune on all this stuff so I can use the laptop through the TV and getting

    very

    irate!!!!

what is your TV? Did you try several HDMI cables? The cable might be broken. Also try to boot windows with the cable plugged in

Try reinstalling the video drivers? Also try the reboot option.

After that my next instinct would be to call AW Tech Support and ask for a new motherboard...

Right. I tried a different TV and that didn't work either. I then uninstalled the graphics drivers and tried to install the new 195 drivers. It's now doing that annoying thing where it says it can't find any drivers for the components. I had this once before and I can't remember how I got around it.
So now I don't have any proper drivers on the system.

    BUT!

I plugged in the HDMI cable and it flicked up on the TV!!!
It's working! Sort of, no mouse pointer on the TV screen (is this normal?).
So, if I can just get the new drivers on it may work, any ideas?

is it extended? or is a clone of ur main display?

if its extended, your mouse can be drug between the screen. depending on which side you have it set up, is where you can drag the mouse to seperate screen.

but yeah, you should be able to see which side ur second display is on in display settings.

Need more information on the TV, like is it 1080p or just 720?
