Temperatures & Touchpad

Ive been monitoring my temp's for a while now and here is what ive got:

Idle - High performance

CPU: 30-40c
GPU: 30-50c

World of warcraft - High performance
Settings: max, 1440x900 rez

Stealth mode FPS: 60 ( highest refresh rate on monitor )

CPU: 36-43
GPU: 55-70 depending

Non-stealth mode FPS: 60 ( highest refresh rate on monitor )
CPU: 45-65
GPU: 50-80

Crysis - High performance

Non-sealth mode fps: 20-50
settings: Everything very high, Dx10 1024x768 rez ( no jaggies )

CPU: 45-70 sometimes topping over
GPU: 70-90 never over 90



This is only part of a review im writing and i wish to know, are these temps ok? THey seem quite high next to my desktop counter-part so im not to sure.

Also, i cannot find the touch pad scroll..

While were on the topic, Why can you not move and use the touchpad at the same time?

As in, WoW you move forward with the W key then move mouse, but you cant

 

Temps are quite OK. But here's the 1 million dollar question...
What Bios do you have? Do you have the most recent Bios?

 

There's a patch in MyHive for solving the mouse + Keyboard thing.
Supposedly you have to apply a patch that will allow you to use both at the same time. Weird... But well, thats it.

 

not sure how to check the bios and where can i find the patch? never used Myhive before

Ok. So... the temps are OK!
Make sure you put a bit of stress on Crysis (and take off Vsync) and play it quite a bit on the beach scenario. 90ºC is a good temperature... but don't throw firelights just now. Test it a bit more throughly (this is... play a bit more). Can you get Stalker? Other FPSs?


Regarding MyHyve, go to the support page and register. For this you will need the number you have on the white card that comes with the leather folder.

Appart from that... I'm very happy that your new toy is working fine. I do really hope it will only give you good times. Congrats again Enitope.

And yes i have stalker which.. i love to hate. I love the rpg and the feeling when shooting. I hate that the creators have left it and its very badly optimized and super hard at he army level Ill download it later from steam.

I also have Bioshock and Flight simulator X which will stress it
but i guess ive gotten really lucky so far.

My only beef with it is the batterys runs in like 30 mins on full performance even on stealth mode which is annoying, maybe a bad baterry i dont know.

Do you play while on batteries? No wonder you batery just drains that fast.

The tests you are doing shouldn't be done while on batteries as it will downclock your GPU (and thus, your temps will not correspond to what it can really go up to).

To finish... Monitor your temps while playing Stalker as that game was the one that pushed the GPU higher and faster.

i tryed to get into the MyHive area and upon creating an account i need an
account number & Zip code or account email,

I can't find them though, i got a white piece of paper / cardish with my DHL account number and delivery address and thats it.

I also got a manual. turbo cache cd, nero essentials, respawn disk and vista support in the folder.

 

I can't find my account number anyway arrrrrghhh

 

it should be in the alienware folder thing they give you

 

entoliclo... in your folder you have this white card... When you open the folder, it's on the left part of it, on a small see through pouch (or something like that).
In this card you should have your name and your special agent ID number... or something like that.
That's the number you will need to use.

 

Hmm... how much fun and realistic can Flight Simulator X be? And can that tax the system? (Do you get to hear cabin announcements and see people panic and throw up when you hit turbulence?)

Nevermind i found my Customer ID on a piece of paper showing what i ordered.

So anyway, i still can't find the patch in myhive. just an invoice and when clicked it has a list of stuff which i cannot click.
I also checked the Drivers & Downloads section and found nothing on the touchpad

 

in the Myhive area i see the Touchpad but i cannot click it. Only a few are clickable..
