Lucky australian bastards! Alienware is launching a new program that'll let you try out and buy Alienware systems in retail stores. Of course, they'll be even more overpriced than buying from them online, but you'll be able to finally witness an Alienware system in person before buying it. If any of the stores around me put the m15x out to try out I'd be there the first day. Hopefully we'll see this spread across to the US. Alienware has been getting pretty popular with the release of the m15x, so releasing it in retail stores with its' amazing design and decent pricing will get Alienware a lot more business. We'll see what happens...

oh, go us. its about time we get some preferential treatment.

might have to go check some out. i wonder if it will just be at the big chain stores where the prices are already inflated.

i wonder if this has happened since Dell bought them out.
AW used to be exclusive but now it sounds like in a few years you will be able to buy them from from wall mart or tescos.

It's nice to hear that they're letting you see the product in person before you purchase one - IMO they're only creating more awareness..
It'll still be exclusive in the sense that only those that can afford it (the high-rolling gamers) can buy a maxed Out-Of-This-World system with looks that can kill..

i rather it not be in stores. owning a alienware is like owning a super expensive car because you will normally never see one. if they sold alienwares in walmart people would definitley look at alienware differently.

I didn't mean its good they're selling it in stores - Just it'll be nice to have a hands on before you take the plunge.. Ease some of those finnicky gamers out there who need to try it before they buy it..

And in this case - the machines are pre-configured so you aren't gonna get the AW you want (unless you're quite generic :p) or a beast of a machine..

Edit: If I recall correctly the article says AW will only be using resellers who are gaming enthusiasts or the like.. With two stipulations - They have to purchase 10 machiners per quarter and always have one laptop and one desktop on display..

It still amazes me that you go ahead and buy such an expensive machine like the m9750 and then don't know the specs of it before you place the order. The dimensions and weight are out there if you care to look. :)
