The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. It has definitely impressed me that AW_Steve/Frank have frequented the forums, listened to the outcries and continued to revise the BIOS to fix the downclocking issues. I have not experienced anymore of the issue and I also have had tremendous support with Oscar from tech support when calling to troubleshoot my system.

I think it is mandatory that companies support expensive products but you don't always get that support and I know AW has received some flack (rightfully so in the past and present). If this kind of support is a sign of things to come, than I will be very confident ordering from you again (I have two previous systems from AW).

AW is a profitable boutique and I think they can afford to have a few forum frequenters and I think it will pay off dividends in the long-run by showing a niche community just how much they are willing to stand behind their product.

In all seriousness, AW could probably have just begun advertising the m17x and taken the spotlight off the m15x and ignored many of the issues. I appreciate the quick work on new revisions. I have posted my frustrations with the company but am just as quick to post positives as well. This BIOS fix x32 is well deserved. Thank you.

Yeah I was very impressed that they would have an engineer come to the forums to help us out. (If I remember correctly Frank was an engineer)

Very thankful that AW did SEEM to fix it. But remember we were left in the dust for a long time and never had any word of update on the continuing problem AFTER the X30 bios. CSR, Tech support and AW-Steve didn't have any answers. So the alienware community came together and hopefully it gave some pressure to AW to release a beta version or to hasten up on finding a solution Then randomly frank comes on and issued a new bios,

In the past i too have been critical of Alienware's response to the M15x problems. But in my case they handled the problem professionally, quickly, and kept me updated on what was going on. Since i received a replacement M15X and installed the updated Bios have no problems with downclocking, overheating, or erratic touch controls. Juan Carlos Nunez, the lead tech from the Critical Issues Department was especially helpful and courteous.
