Just wanted to say a quick thank you to all the M9750 owners on the forum who have posted information and opinions on this particular laptop. I currently own an M5700 which has been an awesome computer and i was on the fence about picking up the M9750.

After reading all the positive opinions and descriptions of build quality on the M9750 i feel confident that if i didn't jump on this before they are discontinued i would regret it.

I placed my order last week and at the moment it is in Phase 8.

    Alienware M9750
    Windows XP Pro
    1920x1200 display
Core 2 Duo [email protected] GHz
    2xGeForce GO 7950GTX SLI
    1GB RAM (purchased 2x1GB Crucial DDR2 667 from NewEgg saving $110)
    80GB HDD (purchased 2xSeagate 200GB 7200.2 SATA2 HDDs from NewEgg saving $90)
    Intel PRO Wireless 3945 a/b/g
    3-year Aliencare
    AlienRespawn Recovery Kit

So thank you M9750 owners, you provided me some great info which gave me what i needed to make educated purchase.

You made the right choice. I have had mine since last July with no problems. You should have considered Vista as your OS though. Vista now with SP1 performs much better with games than before-and there have never been any stability issues with it in my experience.

Very nice choice. I agree that Vista would have been a nice touch but you may have other reasons for choosing XP. You'll be very happy with your m9750.

I have a desktop for gaming and since my m9750 can play crysis on high settings I doubt I will outgrow it in the next 2-3 years.

excellent setup. You will love it! You can always pick up vista later and set up a dual boot on a second hard drive. It works for me :)

Thanks for the compliments on the configuration. My only complaint about this system is that it does not use the santa rosa chipset limiting it to 2.5GB of system memory with 7950s in SLI.

As for Vista, it was a pretty easy decision for me. With the memory limit and the fact the XP just plain runs better....Windows XP was my choice.
