Hey there folks. I'm a lurker who has been monitoring this board for quite a while trying to decide on a new Laptop.

This board has been very helpful to me in deciding on a new m9750 and I just wanted to give you all a /clap for all the helpful advice and tips you provide.

My new 9750 arrived in perfect condition on monday with the only glitch being AW sending me the desktop portfolio instead of the laptop one.... Love the design and build quality of this laptop. Thanks for steering me away from the m15x/m17x

    Much Love.

Hey, welcome. Enjoy your machine. There may be a lot of drama around the m15x, but i've heard nothing but praise for the m9750

Hey, the exact same thing just happened to me. Anyway, what are your specs and benchmarks? I'm a little disappointed that my new machine is only turning out 7600 3dmarks (8700m sli config).

That sounds about normal for an 8700 SLI, what were you expecting?

Around 8k. That's what AW said they got. I guess it's not a big difference.

AW tests it on a lower resolution i think. bone stock they said i got like 8500, and then when i tested it without anything but 3dmark06, i got 8200.

    congrats on the new machine

I haven't had a chance to benchmark it myself yet although I went with a 2.0Ghz, self upgraded the ram to 4GB, Single 8700 (hoping 8800 comes out soon), and dual 7200RPM 120GB drives in Performance Raid Array.

I tried to dload 3dmark yesterday but it crapped out on me at 99% . Grrrr.

I'll post some benchmarks once I get it dloaded

Hmmm...with my 8800m gtx, my sager got 9168. guess that illustrates just how huge the difference between the 8700 and 8800 really is...2 8700s don't touch one 8800. (Not trying to put the 8700 or its users down or anything like that...i think the 9750 is a really cool machine).

Alienware said they weren't supporting the 8800M GTX in the M9750.

    With just a single 8700 pulling 4800 3Dmarks with 2006.

Not so shabby. not much reason to upgrade yet for me.
