"Our Alienware m17x is tricked out with plenty of high-end components, including two 500GB 5,400rpm hard drives, for a whopping 1TB of total storage. We also got twin Nvidia GeForce 9800 graphics cards (which, unfortunately, do not appear to be currently available on the Alienware Web site) in an SLI configuration, a 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Extreme X9000 CPU, and 4GB of RAM. By way of comparison, our current favorite gaming laptop, the $1,449 Gateway P-7811FX, has a Core 2 Duo P8400, only 200GB of hard drive space (but it’s a 7,200rpm drive), a single GeForce 9800 card, and the same 4GB of RAM. The Alienware is clearly more powerful, but also costs around four times as much."

I think we'll start getting the 9800M GTX and probably Montevina in the m15x and the m17x with Breed 3...

That sounds really good. Its nice to see some of the "supposedly" high end manufacturers incorporate the new tech. Like some venders dont even have DDR3 available with the new Montevinas, which can be a dissapointment. So far, the Toshiba x305 and Gateway p7811 fx are the only big venders that have the new tech.

So wait, will I be able to upgrade from my 8800 GTX's to 9800 GTX's when they are available? I have a m17x now - will they be compatible with my setup?

    m17x
    1900x1200 WUXGA
    2.5 GHz Intel
    SLI 8800m GTX's
    2 GB RAM

Um... I hope you realize that Gateway may have a brand recognition, but Clevo has been around longer.

Clevo is the largest boutique brand manufacturer for high end notebooks for as long as I can remember.... Alienware, VoodooPC, Falcon NW, .... have all known this. ;)

Even Dell has nothing on them, since Clevo still outdates them. ;)

If you actually go to cnet and read the review you will find that it had 9800 Gt's NOT 9800 GTX's which makes perfect sense as the 9800 GT's are just a die shrink of the 8800 GTX's.
