    Wow though,

Side graphics card, you can choose the recent Geforce 8700M GT 512 MB and the new top-notch graphics card from Nvidia, the Geforce 8800M GTX 512 MB (+ 500 dollars).

Hope thats a mis-print. :D $500 extra is a large chunk-o-cash. So SLI 8800's would be like $750? $1000? Convert that to pounds and thats £250 for the 8800 over an 8700.. fair enough. £500 for SLI. Ok... but thats a direct conversion..

The prices on the sample pages were pretty high, no doubt, but also keep in mind that they may not be the final prices. The notebooks don't officially launch until the 19th and you can bet that AW will be watching their competitor's prices between now and then. I would also suspect to see a huge price drop on the m9750 as well.

Also keep in mine that SAGER/CLEVO (NP9261) will probably support the 8800 as well. I will supposed that since they just came out with a new release of there motherboard. For me it would not make any sense to have a third mother board rev. that supports the 8800.

most likely dell has struck another exclusive deal with nvidia to offer the 8800m only to them and alienware for a month or two, like they did with the geforce 6800 ultra when that came out.

i think they might still offer the m9750 but make the m17x as their flagship high(er) end notebook since i think they said it will have up to dual 8800m....i just hope they release another mALX so i can go buy one...

have fun, it will take alienware 2 years to ship one to you after you order it, notebook sounds cool, and it has many people thinking it will be a desktop GTX slimmed down for notebooks, good marketing there huh?

not to burst your bubble but your order has not been placed if they did not give you a price and eta. sounds like your order will be placed on opening day, like all others.

I have a price, no need to have my bubble burst. I didn't post it here since I was asked not too BY ALIENWARE!

Why are people so fickle about this? I was dumb/smart enough to place an order, it went through, they called me and placed the order as a pending order and that's how it goes. I was also asked not to discuss pricing as it may change so I'm not. I never did say I was first, or last, or special. If anything, a few people here might have a personality disorder, not me.

I was adding to the hype by posting here, FOR FUN and trying to keep things anonymous to prevent any repercussions !! and to let folks know its a real deal when it might be speculation. I never meant to offend anyone.

I'll be moving along now and posting under my daily screenie.

So...you were "asked" by Alienware not to discuss it but yet you did anyway by posting here under a "different" screen name as if Alienware would know what your "real" screen name is and as if having called you and "asked" you not to post here, they could not figure out by your "pre-order" who you are. Sorry, your own story just doesn't make sense. We might not know who you are but Alienware certainly would be able to figure it out based on what you've posted here. If you had really been able to place an order and were worried by "repercussions" you would not have posted what you did to begin with.

And could someone trace that IP and find out who it is.

Yes, You must be very fearful of persons in dark alien-suits raiding your home, dragging you away at the point of an AK-47 (or space laser) and torturing you if you reveal the sacred pricing plan....

Add yet to that last sentence.

I don't appreciate the remark on the logic of my thinking and writing.

Also, excellent remark on the "bad penny" attitude the "secretsanta" has assumed. You are giving never ending turn signals a good name.

    Back on topic:

I recieved an email from alienware insider today stating

"Seek out the Area 51 m15x and Area 51 m17x on November 19th."

So now alienware acknowledges the existence of these machines. (That sounds like something out of a NASA or CIA report, don't you think?)

I wish I knew if they were replacing it or not. As for the word exchange, I am not taking too much of this seriously. Life be to short.

If they offered the 8800 series in the 9750, then that would be an attractive offering with an expected price drop.

I'm not buying a new laptop yet (Only got my m9750 a few months ago), unless alienware really ups the trade in program or offers exchanges of some form. (Which they won't)

If they do offer the 8800 for the m9750, I will definitely consider it.

Alienware is probably a launch partner for the cards, so they'll probably have them first. Thus the huge fanfare and hype for the new laptops -vs- a regular launch.

I saw that on Engadget as well - they are also offering Quad Core - hate to think what the battery life would be, I remember having a laptop with a desktop p150, barely got 45minutes out of it from new.
