I am starting this thread basically to know about the accessories that you think are must have for m15x.

As I would be visiting States in Feb, I want to compile a list of goddies that I might want to bring back with me.

Please let me know what all you got and where one get it from if possible.

I will compile a list and update this thread later. Thanks!

Look at whizzo's sig. That should be more than enough ;)
I'd love to have the Roccat Kone, but the MX-518 is too good for me to let go.

My Logitech G5 is never without my m15x...

Also, the Smart Bay battery is a must-have.

I'd like to pickup another power brick, but that's because the one I have is kinda worn (some might remember me posting about it... it's still just as bad as it was...), plus I'd like to have one for home, one for on the go.

I love the logitech series of mice... for the most part. the MX1000 (I think it was called) was horrendous... it was huge and had a bajillion buttons. the MX-518/G5/VX Nano (if you want something smaller) are all good buys.

more or less, IMO, the m15x + a mouse, is essentially everything. the smartbay battery adds mobility because you can last so much longer away from the outlet... but it does take longer to charge. a cooling pad and mouse mat might be useful too, but I just can't think of anything else that would be a must-have for any notebook really.

I am currently using this bag for my m15x. I was using the Alienware Odyssey Bag prior to this one.

    http://www.pacsafe.com/www/index.php?_room=3&_action=detail&id=83

The best thing about it is you can remove the laptop sleeve from the bag. This bag's built in removable sleeve has 2 compartments for the smart bay accessories as well. It's anti theft features are also a great plus

My 2 main complaints with the Alienware Odyssey bag are:

    1. Strap twists and turns a lot.
    2. There is no optional handle, should you decide to hand carry it.

This Pacsafe bag solves both of those problems

Wow. 120 bucks for the pacsafe bag. But, if it's good then it's worth it.

    Must-Have accessories:

    Mouse: ROCCAT Kone
    Mousepad: ROCCAT Taito
Cooler: Zalman NC2000 or NZXT Cryo LX
Headset: Logitech G35 or Creative HS1200
External Hard Drive: whatever floats your boat
    2nd Battery: Smartbay 6-cell Battery

That's about it... at least, that's what would make my day... (I'm still waiting to get the G35 and HS1200).

I was able to get it with a 20% discount here locally dhoang ;) It is kinda expensive, but I like the bag's flexibility.

As for the mouse, I like the Razer Deathadder. Works wonderfully with the Alienware mousepad. For the cooler, I use Belkin's cooler.

Love it, it's metal with a textured coating on both sides so you can flip it over for a smooth or rough surface. It's also much larger than a regular mouse pad, giving you more room to do stuff without having to lift the mouse up. And finally, it fits with razer's wrist rest thing perfectly (obviously), although you don't need to use it.

I use this little Microsoft mouse I bought on Newegg. The blue light matches the blue backlight of my m15x's keyboard. It works wonderfully. I also use the alienware mousepad, some $10 white headphones that match my ipod and I use the Alienware Orion messenger bag.

Which, btw, that bag is awesome. I carry 2 laptops in it now (my m15x and my new macbookpro) as well as my notebook, sketchbook, a rather large drawing supply box then my adapter for the m15x, tablet and other small stuff.

    smarty bay battery (MUST)

a <bluetooth mouse> for when you're not doing fps gaming... great portablilty with internal bluetooth.. just take it out and you're set :D

( i know this is a big laptop and a lot of people would probably mostly use it at home... but i use it portably so bluetooth mouse is awesome for me , plus i killed my G5 cord by rolling it up too much and squeezing it in bag pockets)

i myself have the mx revolution bluetooth version.

edit: AND if you have a sewing machine somewhere... i'd reccommend going over the stitches on the alienware black cloth sleeves... it makes it more durable and less likely to rip at the seams :D
