This video was provided by Alienware at the 2009 E3. It provides insite into just what exactly goes into their impressive product designs

I like new plain clean look, which is recently robbed by ASUS to design G73 :p

There's more videos like this on their Alienware TV channel. It's funny, in the video they mention they went for a more stealth look and what does Asus advertise as their main selling point for G73? "Stealth bomber design", yeah more like, "we're not creative enough to do anything besides rip off AW". The M15x/M17x really are in a class by themselves, no other gaming notebook comes close in design, build quality and aesthetics. Clevo's and Asus notebooks look like cheap paper weights in comparison.

The reason why i decide to go for M17X is it's design. However I can't agree with you regarding paper weight stuff. Clevo & Asus make good products & even AW used Clevo products in the past.

ASUS just act like a Chinese Auto maker & copied the design. They do the job, but still a copy.

My £4.5K gonna wait until AW release CF M17x with DX11 support.

Agreed, my Clevo M570RU despite it's solid Clevo quality, looks like a dollar store item compared to my M17x.

I remember when that video came out. It actually got everyone talking about the possibility of the "red" version being released.

@Wolverine: I'm assuming you already tried un-raiding your drives to troubleshoot a stuttering issue.

I actually haven't tried unraiding but i have heard it doesn't work - this will be my next step,, i have a tech coming out tomorrow (fingers crossed they don't break the unit..!)

Sorry for bombarding the topic, no more stutter talk!

I liked those 'wings' on the back of the old alienware models better than the current design of the back of the screen, but the overall design of the new m17x is definitly better, definitly because of those 'jet' looking things in front of it.
After watching this video I totaly want one, but the total cost of a decent configuration would go up to 3500€ which I could afford, but I would feel guilty for spending that much money on a laptop that will probably not be able to run the newest games at their max settings after 2 years or even just a year.

if i have m17 i probably would not sell it,and i will keep them, since it's the last design of alienware,in the future,i think they won't be any skullcap looks anymore, skullcap has been alienware trademark as far as i know.

I liked the design on the back of the older M17. I know it's more 'retro', but it was cool.

I guess it is an aesthetic thing. Anyway to get one of those and plant them on the M17x?
