    Hi Kevin

    Once again big thanks for Your effort here on the forums.

    Could You please give us any info on 4870 Crossfire in M17?

    Will there be any upgrade program for those who already bought M17 with 3870CS? (read: Discount)?

    Cheers
    Luke

    if they offer that then they would need to offer the same for upgrades to the 64bit OS....

    and as kevin stated, they are not going to do it.

    I have a question though and would like to ratify what another member of the Roswell crew told me. I wanted to upgrade my 8700M GT card in my m15x to the 9800 while it went in for repairs, but I got a response that currently Alienware was not providing any upgrades?

    i think it's been established by now that there are two different slots in the m17 , one is III and will fit an ATI card, the other is IV (or IIIHE? the naming scheme for MXM slots isn't very concise) and will fit either an ATI card or an Nvidia card.

    Rickscafe,

    Whizzo answered your question before I could, but just to recap;
    The primary port has the capability to support ATI and NVIDIA (Hybrid), and the secondary port is a regular mxm3 port..

    Rfrancis,

    At the time your system was in our facility, we did not have the option to upgrade to the NVIDIA 9800’s. As of today, we are offering this video card as an upgrade option for the m15x and the m17x that do not have Windows XP (this is due to compatibility issues).

    Best regards,

    Props to Kevin for helping calm my fears about my m15x that I purchased. Sounds like this new crew of yours is fantastic. This is my first Alienware product so I'm chompin at the bit to get it. Supposed to come tomorrow.
