The UK Phase Game (stage 4-9)

i know there are a lot of unhappy customers at the moment with some sadly even canceling their order of the m15x.

firstly for people that have already received their laptops.

can you give us a rough guide of how long you stayed in phase 5 for and roughly how long it took to go from 5-9
Phase 4: (Pre-Production)
Phase 5: (Production Phase 1 - Assembly)
Phase 6: (Production Phase 2 - Integration)
Phase 7: (Production Phase 3 – System Testing)
Phase 8: (Production Phase 4 - Quality Control/Shipping Prep)
Phase 9: (Order Shipped)

and secondly for people still waiting:
what date was your money taken out of your account and
what stage are you in and how long have you been there.


im still in phase 5
order placed on 7th march (was ordered a week before but was turned down by AW finance company and it took till 7th to sort it out)
10th march received email saying they wanted proof of who i was.
10th march proof accepted and order commenced.
14th march money taken from account
25th march email confirming system is now in production. moved to phase 5

 

im still in phase 4
order placed on 6th Feb
10th Feb received email saying they wanted proof of who i was.
12th Feb proof accepted and order commenced.
16th Feb money taken from account

 

Ordered 5th of February.
Phase 4 from 7th of February (or 8 don't remember for sure) until 27.03.08
Called them up for a long (45+ minutes) talk in an angry mood and next day I was phase 7.
Phase 7 from 28.03 until today (included 31.03.08).

Tomorrow afternoon they are getting a phone call from me if they keep it in phase 7.

 

MrDJ how is yours in phase 5 already ?!?! :O :O

I ordered mine on the 8th March, payment confirmed and taken out of the account on 12th and mine is still in phase 4.

@Kaak, I don't understand how that is possible :S.

Ordered 6th Feb
In Phase 4 on 13th Feb until 28th March
Laptop case arrived 31th March !

 

Utter mockery from Alienware.. can't believe that.

the worrying thing is all those people that ordered in february and they are still in phase 4

ive rung only 3 times and have not threatened to cancel or was not rude so your guess is as good as mine.

hopefully we will get a few more replys to this thread and then will be able to see the descrepancies with the dates and times.

 

I'm cancelling tomorrow. The thought of this laptop just does nothing for me anymore, and they've left me hanging way too long as it was needed by Wednesday this week at the VERY latest. And I thought my original 10th of March estimate was taking the Michael some-what.
Going to spend all £2300/$4600 of the money on a car restoration, and some Mountain Biking gear (my new favourite thing as of yesterday)

So this will be the last of me on this forum. Although I do get notebook urges every few years or so, so maybe next time I'll actually be sold one in time hehe.

 

Lets keep this forum clean and only with the info on phase/order (and eventually cancellation) and lets all whine in the other forum.

PS @Eeekie try to get a manager/supervisor on the phone to do the cancelation and tell him what we think of him and his job . I'll call them tomorrow afternoon too.

 

Okay maybe they give you some kind of priority if you phone in so they see you're interested. I'll phone them tomorrow!

 

My order jumped straight from Phase 5 to Phase 9 (in two days time when I didn't check my order status). But I was on Phase 5 for just over 3 weeks (ordered early March). I have a feeling that the phase info is not very up to date.

 

Phase 9: (Order Shipped)
Congratulations, the order has been shipped. We only hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed building it for you.

So phase 7 from Friday till Today when I see my order shipped. I'll keep you guys posted but now I can't call and whine to AW anymore...

 

I hate AW. Other people who ordered on beginning of March already have it shipped, but I'm sitting in Phase 4 near a damn month. C'mon AW!

 

NOT FAIR !!! I ordered 11th Feb and Im still in Phase 5 since thursday. The guy I spoke to today said it should ship next week
My only hope is that by the time they get working on mys system they would have assembled someone elses and will be better at it.

 

Mine was ordered 5th February and there were some screwups with the order when I changed the processor type. When the penryn came I called and had them change my processor with the equivalent new one and made sure that the guy said I will still keep my position in the building cue . Then I called some 10 days after and by chance I mentioned the change and the new guy I talked to said that he sees no change made so went over it again with the guy and it seemed that the first guy did a mistake and didn't forward the change to production/financing so I made the change again and this time I got from them a written promise that my system will be built in priority (lol) and also they gave me a nice coffe tumbler thing for my troubles . Then when people started to jump to phase 5 and I stayed in phase 4 for a week got again on the phone with them and finally found out that many orders started to build before mine (even if they were ordered 2+ weeks later and mine was supposed to be in priority) because my processor (2.6Ghz) was not on stock and they had only the 2.5Ghz (that's what we figured out here on the forums at least). So got back on the phone with the guy and told him that either he can give me a written assurance that my parts will come in in the next 48 hours and production will start or he has to upgrade my order to the next better available processor in order to insure that my order is in priority (since I ordered 5th and all the hicups of CS). Next day I was in phase 7 and 3 days later the computer shipped.

Bottom line, call them, and get them to put your system in high priority if you ordered early february. Also mention you want them to upgrade for free the processor to equivalent/next best available in order for them to enforce the priority. And don't give up hope .

Nop, I'm not in town till Friday and I also discovered that AW ships their system with something called dhl euro road express... Which means 4 days delivery or somewhere around that. And I live in Switzerland so... Hopefully I'll give you some good news Saturday or so . Didn't even know that dhl has a road express service, hope is not by bike lol.

 

its not by bike, its horse and cart delivery.
