    Hey guys

since windows 7 is about to be released, we should be expecting more and more users using this new OS. I can see that so far the windows 7 users on this forum are experiencing issues such as driver or software support (command centre doesn't work, audio driver issues etc)

I would like to start a collective thread where you guys can post working drivers, updated drivers and bug fixes. I promise to update the thread constantly regards to your feedback.

    Cheers.

Pretty much all the vista drivers work for Win 7. With the exception of Alienwares propitiatory drivers.

There have been mobile GPU drivers by nVidia since a short bit after the public beta was released. WDDM 1.1 certified even.

i don't think hybrid is listed as a supported feature in Win 7 laptops

i thought they were not going to incorperate it because not many manufacturers were using it

but hey i read it on the internet how true can it be

While M$ isn't supporting it in Win7, manufacturers can release custom drivers for the Hybrid support.

I wouldn't worry too much. I know once it gets closer to 7's release Dell will get the drivers up...

    morning guys,

good to see so many replies! So Hybrid works with 186.xx drivers according to ex2j meanwhile 190.xx doesn't. Man I really hope this is true cos when I get my m17x the first thing I'm going to do is boot off the windows 7 pro rtm DVD and format my C drive and install win7.

You guys think this is a good idea? (Really not keen to go back to vista)

TAO: If I understand your question correctly, My M17x is on its way to my doorsteps, but it didn't come with win7 pre-installed since it's not out yet. I'm a member of MSDN (M$ Developer's Network) so I get Windows7 Professional free right now (released for MSDN members since early August). That's why I wanted to know if Hybrid works with it.

As far as research goes, AlienSense will not work with Windows7 unfortunately. But as Sleey0 has kindly pointed out, Dell will hopefully release supporting updates when Windows7 is almost released to the public (around Oct 20~ I think)

Anyone else experiencing unusual phenomena or issues with Windows7 and their M17x?
