    Ok my alienware is a piece of XXXX but i love the screen. could i save it for a new laptop with better specs and just switch the LCD's.

    you mean the back panel of the lcd? i guess you could, but you'd have to cut it and bend it to fit newer models...

    i think he means the actually screen itself. i dont think it will be possible unless you some how manage to fit it on the new laptop and you are then somehow able to connect the lcd to the mobo or whereever the screen connects to in a laptop

    the screen itself? well they're all standardized in terms of size (and i suppose connectors), so it shouldn't really be a problem... i believe markus.kainer has replaced his m15x LCD with a 1680x1050 LG model, so i guess it should work.
