cannot be found. Google says no. MSN says no. Yahoo says no. Arima says no - Compu'er says no.

I've been looking everywhere what Arima chassis model the m9750 is and I cannot find it anywhere, is Alienware telling Arima to keep it a secret or de we actually have a real Alienware branded laptop??

My theory is that the m9750 is a modded Arima W830-DA, that Alienware went to nVidia personally (in a corporate sense) and asked them to design a motherboard for this chassis that would support C2D and SLi, henceforth the Alienware m9750 is in fact.... an Alienware m9750... do we really have custom built gaming notebook in our hands? This imo would explain the delays, the extended testing with DX10 cards and the price: If the Alienware m9750 is truly unique that would make it more expensive naturally, although it still doesn't justify what Alienware charges for the TV tuner and Screen upgrade in the US versions, the EU version at least has "normal" upgrade prices

Alienware probably has exclusive rights to the chassis, that's why you can't find it.

As far as I know, Alienware has exclusive rights to the chassis, at least in North America. They worked directly with Armima to design the m9700 AND the 9750.

I could be wrong, but I heard that they used the same chassis for the m9750 that they did with the m9700 but changed the color... :S

Alienware does have an exclusive on the Arima chassis in North America - I recall seeing someone from Europe with an Arima that was essentially the m9700 around the time they first came out. Not sure what the situation in Europe is with the m9750 version, or if Arima even makes a system with similar specs.
